All,

Here is some new information.  Rohrbaugh's new address for correspondence is:

Daniel Cox
Rohrbaugh Firearms
870 Remington Drive
Madison, NC  27025

And their new phone number is:  855-774-0012

Currently, there is a recording on the phone number.  The message confirms that the Long Island, New York office is closed, and they are reclocating to a new location.  During this time, they are not staffing the phone lines.  However, they are accepting voice mail messages, which will be checked.

During the transition, it is not possible to order "pistols, magazines or accessories."  They expect to begin producing pistols again later this summer.

However, they are setting up a process for warranty repair of Rohrbaugh pistols.  There will be more information on May 12th regarding this process.

The official Rohrbaugh website is expected to be updated soon.

The information does not specifically state that Remington Outdoor Group purchased the company, but the contact address is identified on Google as "Remington Arms Company."  Furthermore, Daniel Cox is listed on LinkedIn as the Handguns Product Manager at Remington Arms.

So, it appears that progress is being made,Remington plans to commence warranty repairs in the near future, and that more information will be available in about a  week.  The information does not specifically address the sale of parts, but we can hope that will be addressed in the forthcoming announcement.

Very interesting and positive; Madison, also home of Bushmaster, is quite a distance from Pineville, NC, the location of Para-USA, which was the original rumor. Hey! we'll take it.

This is definitely not encouraging. Remember when Remington acquired Marlin and the quality of their lever action rifles went directly into the toilet? Let's hope that this doesn't happen to Rohrbaugh.

I disagree.  First, the information about Pineville came from the new owners, so it wasn't really a "rumor" per se.  And, Eric confirmed that he is going to Pineville next week.  So...I think the fair interpretation is that the manufacturing will occur in Pineville, but the corporate offices are in Madison.

It is better than nothing which is where we were before now. However, after handling the new Remington R-51 pistol noted in an earlier post your point is well taken and let's hope not on a quality degradation. Maybe having the corporate offices separate from the manufacturing facility has some drawbacks.

Remington's various brands have certainly come under some fire lately...  I can't argue with that.  Historically, however, they have been pretty darn good.  Let's hope for the best and give them a chance to really inject some capital and some manufacturing efficiency and capacity into the brand.

I expect to see a "Remington Rohrbaugh" on the market next summer for $699.  With some big changes to get the prices down to a point sales will be over the 300 units a year mark.  Maybe they can work the bugs out with QC and reliability enough to the point it's a marketable product.

I think that is possible too, Bob.  I don't doubt that Remington has the scale and the efficiency to make these guns for a quarter of the previous cost.  The question will be -- what is lost in the process?  It is possible that nothing significant is lost -- or at least nothing "operationally" significant.

Interestingly, that could bring bring in lots of people to the R-9 camp, and the value of our New York guns could increase dramatically for true collectors.  However, it might make our guns worth much less to the average person buying an R-9 to carry...  Interesting times are ahead.

I heard on another Forum that the owners packed up and left the factory without a word and now nobody can get warranty service. If true, that's a shameful way to run a business. Why isn't the phone being answered so people can make claims?

Like many things on internet forums, that is not exactly true...  This has unfolded in almost real time here on the forum.  You can see a few posts about it.

The company was sold to (we now know) to Remington early this year.  After the closing of the sale, Remington assumed control of the phone lines.  Remington immediately put up an announcement that the factory was being relocated and that the phones would not be answered during the transition.  They were true to that word, and the phones have not been answered by a live person for 60+ days so far.

However, to say the "owner packed up and left the factory without a word" isn't fair.  The Rohrbaugh phone line always had a recorded message advising of the status.  While it seems to have taken the new owners a long time to get to existing customers, there is progress in this regard, and there is supposed to be an update next week and a process for warranty claims.

While some might be critical of the delay by Remington, no one exactly left under the cover of darkness...

Welcome to the forum.  You will see that this is a forum of Rohrbaugh enthusiasts, and a great place to get current and correct information.
