Quality new holster maker for R9
« on: April 09, 2011, 06:05:13 PM »
Hey guys I have dealt with Paul at PJ Holster company over on GT.  He made a wonderful fit kydex IWB holster for my PF9 at the time.  I got back in touch with him to see if he could make one like it for my R9S Covert.  This is what he came up with and I love it.  It is a IWB kydex holster with some grip tape on the inside of the belt tab.  I can wear with a belt very securely or with just the clip on my waistband securely.  The gun draws out and holsters very easily both ways and wears like it is not there.  You know sometimes you just want to clip the gun on your pants and run, this holster gives you that option.  He also made me a pocket holster for my R9S.  Pics of my gun in both holsters and and link are included.  Paul is a super nice guy and will make any holster you want - the way you want it made.  My specification was to put grip tape on the inside of the belt clip.  Priced right and the quality is there.

It looks like a well designed and well made holster.
I'm just set in my ways and think there is nothing better looking than a well made leather/hide holster.

Looks nice, let us know how the finish on the gun holds up over time being pulled and pushed through kydex.  Thanks

Nice looking holster, for sure.  I do understand about the grab and run, however, do prefer leather or some type of skin.

Nice looking holster. :)

I also would like to see the long term effects on the finish of the gun.

just ordered the J-hook IWB model for my stealth. give me a year and i'll let you know, wolverine.

(past experience is that kydex is harder on finishes, but its often worth it for the positive aspects that thermoset plastic construction offers)

unbelievable - i ordered a holster from Paul at PJ Holster on the 16th and got an email this morning (18th) telling me it's been shipped.

wow, that sort of speed is rare for any business!

i was so impressed that i instantly ordered another holster for different firearm, and i haven't even seen the first one yet.

nice going Paul.

I think I might try one out in a pocket model for jeans carry.

For jeans mode I need a truely minimalsit package and this seems to fit the bill.

I am telling you guys, you won't go wrong dealing with Paul-- he aims to please the customer.   Anyone who orders from him will not be sorry.  Best guy I have ever dealt with on any gun related item.

You can put me down as a more than satisfied customer.   After Pauls' post in the classified section, I ordered 3 holsters, one J-hook IWB for my R9, one J-hook IWB for my Glock 27 and a rear pocket for my LWS380. I have nothing but praise for this guy. The quality is top notch, super fast turn around time, very reasonable pricing and excellant communication.
I agree that leather is primo, but for actual use, both on and off duty,  I've been sold on kydex for quite some time. Yes I've seen some wear (been carrying the Glock 27 in a Fobus paddle for several years) but I've also experienced some problems with the leather rear pocket holster that I carried my LWS32 in for years.
If you are even thinking about kydex, give Paul a try, I'll bet you will be VERY happy.
