Title: What was the serial # range of the R9’s with the cracking slides?

I’m looking to grab another R9 and want to make sure it will hold up for the long haul.

IIRC it was only the very early ones that had the issue with the slides (two different steels that did not play well together).

Mike is correct; I had a cracked slide on #7XX. It was replaced by Eric and has been flawless since.

If you find a "Deer Park, NY" R9 in block lettering, you're good to go. If it's "Deer Park, NY" in Old English text, it may be an issue, although there were not that many that really had the cracking problem. Mostly it was the usual "Internet hype". All those returned received our utmost attention to making the gun 100% plus right.

Thanks, my original R9S is R 42X.

I’m probably going to try and pickup a R9S Stealth model.
