Chief,
I was very lucky - spent 18 months in civilian clothes and TDY pay made E5 (temp) in 18 months. When I was drafted had a pilot license and thought I would go to Rucker for rotary. Army asked me when I had 11 months left. I was willing to do whatever they wanted but not to volunteer with 11 months left. On my way to DC now, back Thurs PM.
