As I mention earlier, there is also another supplier, a gunsmith that customizes them as well for a similar price. I want to say- JB Smith?

For a "toy', not a serious shooter, why spend the serious bucks?
If the action is rough on the Rossi and if there is feeding issues, then spend a hundred and you will have a good little shoot'n "toy".

I have another thread called "MARE'S LEG PISOL" and the maker there is J. B. Customs, $1295, for a regular one and $1695 for a take down model.  

$400 bucks for a Rossi is a deal, and Reinz, like you say, another $100 for a trigger job, would be fine; it may not even need it.

Every time I see one of those Mare's Legs, I get the inexplicably sinking feeling that someone might have taken a butcher's band saw to the stock and barrel of a classic and perfectly balanced Winchester Model 1894 fitted with a large-loop lever. I have to remind myself that the Mare's Legs were just made to look that way. Beauty being in the eyes of the beholder, who am I to question such things? :-/

Just try to resist the urge to flip-shoot it. This gun is a bit like a motor scooter: looks good; feels good; but you wouldn't want your friends to see you on it unless you could handle it like Steve McQueen.
