Well, here it is more than two weeks after I ordered, and still no flashlight. I emailed Gary today, and he emailed back that they inadvertantly took some orders with batteries that they didn't have. I was one of those orders - I impulse-bought a battery when I bought my flashlight. Anyway, Gary said the batteries should be in . . . in about a week!

Argh! I emailed back and asked Gary to cancel my battery and just ship my $75 flashlight. I can't believe I've been waiting all this time for a $2 battery! And I would have waited at least another week! I wish they'd have just emailed me right away so I could have gotten the light in a timely manner - I've got batteries, for Heaven's sake.

Grr. I'm frustrated.   I want my light, darn it!

On Mountainman's opinion of the Fenix lights, I decided to show a photo of it to my friend Enzo. He knew the CREE was of new technology, and ordered one.
I also mentioned the same P1D CE to another friend, and he ordered two, one for me.
I was so excited when he gave it to me.
I have been carrying it on my Wilderness Tactical belt since.
I love the Surefires that I have, but I have been tearing holes in my 5.11 pants, so the P1D carried in its holster has been working great.

I too thank Mountainman for introducing me to these lights.

Well, Fenix said they're sending me my light tomorrow morning, along with a discount for my having to wait. Very nice gesture on their part. I can't wait till it gets here.

Erich - I'm sure that you will like the light.  When you turn it off to place it in the holster lens first you may need to rotate the head about a half turn  - on mine otherwise pressure on the head can make it flicker on.

I still really like the Fenix P1 - the light before the PD1 Cree.  I carry it in my shirt pocket by my cell phone and its one level 55 lumens works well for most tasks.  When I want to spot deer out comes the PD1 CE.

I use PRO GOLD from radio shack to lube the threads and O Ring - there is other stuff that is good also.
