Safe trip Duane. Let us know what Remington is showing this year.  ;-)

I am setting in the Press Room waiting for the show doors to open.

Yesterday I had a chance to see, hold and shoot the new Kimber revolver.  It is quite impressive.  It has a very premium feel to it, and the DA trigger is fantastic.  I love S&W revolvers, but Kimber may have a very viable product in the K6s.

More later...

So I visited the Remington booth.  They have a big portion of their new products area devoted to the RM380.

I was interested to see if they readily acknowledged the Rohrbaugh heritage, and they did.  I asked if there were plans for a 9mm and the best I could get was "well the original Rohrbaugh was offered in 9mm."

Subjectively, I think the gun feels good.  The slide racks nicely and the trigger feels a lot like a Rohrbaugh trigger.  I think the black on black on black kind of washes out some of the nice lines of the design.

I am impressed that the materials seems nice quality -- a black oxide over stainless and a 7075 aluminum frame.  They also include two magazines: one with a flush mag plate and one with a finger extension.

Most interesting is the price.  I had missed it is this low -- $439 MSRP.  That should mean you can buy these at $399 or so retail.  Not a bad deal for all all-metal construction pocket gun if it runs well.

There is also a Crimson Trace Laserguard available now.  I guess CT thinks Remington will sell a bunch of them.

I will try to get some pictures posted.

Oh, and no R-51 on display at the show.  ;)

Another interesting tidbit... Rumor has it that a well-known industry publication is running a 1,000 round torture test on the RM380.

That should be interesting.

I have one and it is a good gun I think and a very good value.

GB has them for Buy Now at $320.

I have one also and concur - it seems to be a good gun (easy to shoot and reliable and not too picky about ammo used) and is a very good value - especially at a mid $300 price point if you shop around a bit.

There's already been a 500 round torture test done on an RM380 and it did very well - a couple of FTF about mid-way through that were traced to a dirty magazine that ran perfectly after being cleaned. Another torture test involved coffee grounds, coffee and dirt - and no problems were encountered.

1,000 rounds seems like a lot for this type of gun.  If I get one, I will never put that those to that many rounds through it.  But, the R-51 has people skeptical about Remington.

   Duane,
If you happen to go by the Glock booth and they have some 43's sitting there, and if you notice any stamped USA,and not Austria, can you let me know.Mine is USA.I have not seen any either in print, nor at our range that are stamped USA.
PS.We have had 10 to 20 below here in northern Wisconsin lately. Can you email some of that sun and heat up as an attachment?

Thank you for the reports on SHOT 2916, Duane. Have a safe and enjoyable trip. And if you happen to pass a Roulette wheel consider placing a straight-up bet on the Black 9. It just might be lucky.  8)
