Rossi Ranch Hand (Mare's Leg)
« on: June 23, 2010, 08:46:13 PM »
Rossi came out with a Mare's Leg that is very reasonably priced.  Caliber's are .357, .44 mag, and .45 LC.  Price at Able's is $406.48 when in stock.  Can't find one anywhere.

This seems like a fun gun to shoot.  It's in the American Rifleman for July.  Gonna have to have one of these in .44 mag.    ;D

These are just for fun, I know.    :)

The Rifleman was one of my favorites. I have a Winchester 73 in 44-40 that has been in my family for over 100 years. When I had it appraised the appraiser told me that the barrel had been replaced by the factory in 1929. It is a real treat to shoot; very soft.

Mine as well.  That is some rifle you have there; in 44-40 and over 100 years old.  It has got to be nice.

This rifle caught my eye as well. I would love to have one, definitely would be a fun gun to shoot.
Is that a 9mm in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

I'm trying to find one now.  Able's is the only place I've found and they are not in stock.  They are suppose to notify you if you check the block.

Which probably means maybe sometime in 2011, right around the time the R45, Boberg XR9 and Microtec Archangel are available  ;D

I sure hope not.  Counting on this one to be on time!    ;D  Not that the R45 had a schedule.

Hate to be negative, but being a Rossi, the action will be rougher than a cob.  But on the positive side, it costs about a thousand bucks less than the other two guys marketing custom "mares legs".

Considering the difference in cost, maybe a $100 action job won't sound so bad.

Hey KJ, please be sure to let us know when you get the Mares Leg.  I was not knocking it. I lthink they are cool.
As a kid I loved watching Steve Mcqueen as Josh Randall in WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE.  And of course I was disappointed if he did not whip out  the o' 30-30 to shoot someone.

In fact, I bought all three seasons on DVD a while back and watched a few episodes.  Saving the rest for a rainy day.

I loved that show too.  Yep!  Be glad when the Mare's Leg is available.  Sure wish it could be bought in the 30-30, but understand the reason.

Enjoy the WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE DVD.  That's a good one to have.
