"I'm looking for a fairly large Safe..."
« on: September 11, 2006, 10:50:03 AM »
Anyway,
There are some around here, but I need 1 more desent size; say a 12 - 24, size & between 4-600 lbs.  W/ resonable "Fire safety" qualities as well.  Problem is I'm looking for something w/ a great price, great security, and delivery "Into" my shop..!  I'm "Big", but can't "Wrestle" a 4-600 LB. "Safe" into the shop on my own, and most deals do "Curb Side" Delivery only...  I also have "Carpenter's" on my payrole, but my 'Worker's Comp. would certainly NOT cover "Gun Safe" related back injuries..!

(I guess I could just bolt it down out there @ the curb..!; but I think it would "Attract Attention..!") (LOL..!)

Anyone no where to turn..?  Thanks for any suggestions..!     ;D

I've seen ads for gun safes that are delivered in kit form.  Of course, when I looked thru recent magazines I couldn't find the stupid ad.  However, a quick web search did turn up a few sites that look good:
http://www.zanottiarmor.com/
http://bhw.com//bullseye/safes.htm

Hope that helps.

Eric:

Sprague's Sports in Arizona offers a variety of brand-name safes drop shipped anywhere in the US with home delivery and set up available.

http://www.spragues.com/gunsafes.html

I know what you mean about curb-side delivery.  It took the proverbial "three men and an ox" to get my safe up the steps and stairs and finally bolted to the floor of my den.

Good luck!

I purchased mine special order thru Sam's Club.  The safe was delivered to the store.  I then had a local moving company delivery it into my home.  It took three big guys and it only cost $45 dollars an hour.  Drive time and delivery came out to $90.  Worth it.  I am not about to get hurt in trying it.  Or take out a wall from tipping it.

Eric, you might want to look at Security Products safes. 72x42x30. Tony English in Tulsa sells them all over the US.

You can order a cannon safe through costco, and get curbside, in home, or in location delivery for various increases in price -- I know if houston, it was about $100 to have the safe installed in your house -- however, I think the main benefit of using a reputable safe company would be the background of their workers.

"Aw Heck..!"  I can't decide on a Darned thing...  What I need is one "About" like Tom has described size wise, W/ O all the Nice "Shiny Paint jobs..!"  I just need very good security; I 've got the present one filled to the bursting point...  I want to spend "Less" on safes & more on "Pistol's - N - Parts - N - Stuff..!" (LOL..!)

We don't have Costco's here in S.E. GA., and our local "Sam's" is run by "Id...'.!"; OK RJ..!; "Brain Cell Deprived Persons..!"  'Don't know their "Bun's from the Burgers, if you know what I mean..!!"

Thanks for everyone's help; I'm just drawing a blank again now...

Eric, do yourself a favor, call Tony English in Tulsa( Broken Arrow), Okla. Tell him I thought he would be the guy to go to. He sells different brands of safes nationally. He advertises in the American Rifleman and other gun mags. Ask him about Security Products made in Waco Tx. They make a safe that is 72hx42wx36d that is fire proof and matt finish that is worth the money. He may know someone in your city to install the safe or you could find a safe mover in the yellow pages.

Eric, If you have some gun mags like American Rifleman, he has a ad in the back pages. Tell Tony I said to call him. Now just pull the trigger! ;D

Thanks Tom,
  I don't have "that" Magazine as I'm a "Handgunner..." but I'll check through my other mags..;
(After I call directory assistance...) to see if I can find it in those in any case...
If I find it; "I will Call it/ Him..", and "Drop your name for certain..!"

Thanks allot "Really,"
