I expect that Rohrbaugh will sell holsters on line through their website. I'd like to know if you could select Rohrbaugh's line-up, who would you and what product would feature?
I'll begin: naturally, I'd pick Ron Graham's products (I now own 40 of his products), but if I was Karl and Eric, I'd feature his exotics.

They are considering selling holsters. It is my understanding they have talked to varying degrees with Ron, RJ, Kevin and Desantis. Not sure what they will ultimatley do, or if it even makes sense from a retail perspective.

Well, maybe Desantis is geared towards that type of an arrangement, maybe the others too, but I will stay as I am.

You know what happens when a small outfit gets spread too thin,..something is lost.

You guys missed the point of this thread. What I was looking for was a "dream line-up." The one product or product line-up of a particular holster maker that you think is ideal for Rohrbaugh.

I didn't miss your point -- but I figured my thoughts were too obvious -- as are yours! ;D
Specifically, I like the two K&D Holsters I showed in my "Waiting for Rohrbaugh" thread. I personally like that particular Pocket Defender derivative from Kevin.
The dream line up, however, has to be mostly pocket holsters for a pocket gun like this.

Yea, the opinions of individuals like RJ, yourself, and me are fairly obvious to anyone who isn't brain dead, but there are holster makers who have a line-up or a design that is a jewel that we haven't heard of. We would never find out about these jewels unless we ask.

I don't really think I am quite ready to make a final selection .. working I guess on the likelehood of more options coming along over time.

George .... fave? Well my all time fave is my daily carry with SP-101 .... it is a Jim Burke .. belt slide OWB ... and it's what I call a hi-ride with FBI cant ..... I wear that at about 3 o'clock to 3.30 ... I can ''lose'' the grips and some of profile because almost under my right arm... even with t-shirt, printing is bearable.
The cant is superb for access and draw but .. even now with it well bedded in - retension is good too - and no retension strap either. Makes for super quick draw.
Sadly ..... Jim Burke died last year - I met him in person when I bought the rig at Dallas gun show just over a year ago - dearly wish I could get another. I have even wondered if Kevin or RJ - or someone ... could make a copy - it is sooo good. I hope it'll last me a good while yet. Pic of it some whuile ago - now much more sweat stained!!

That is a beautiful holster ! I like the way he minimumized the height of the holster by letting the barrel peek out the bottom. The stitching is superior !
Your showing the holster here is a tribute to Jim....

Actually RJ .. seeing as the SP is 2 1/4" ... I think that is main reason for muzzle ''peeking out''. Jim made/sold this rig as a generic Smith J frame and so I am pretty sure designed it for the std 2" ..... I did use it for some while with my ol' M85 2" snub until I had the SP.
Whichever way you look at it tho - IMO anyways - this rig has a simplicity and grace of its own. Funny thing is - When I looked at it - prior to parting with the cash .. I was unsure .... but Jim said (in his rather imposing manner!) ... ''If you don't get on with it - I'll take it back - but that's unlikely''!!
First time or two of use - I was still unsure but then over time came to realize why Jim was so certain he'd NOT be seeing it back!! It's hard to describe just how good a rig can be and how good it feels .. rather subjective maybe. R.I.P. Jim.
Kevin ...... I'll look out for an email .. main thing with this re copying .. there will have to be a ''top view'' pic to show the proportion from that standpoint (I must take one). Plus - tho it was pretty ''firm'' when new, it was still retaining a measure of suppleness .. which of course has improved further.

I'll chime in, since a photograph of my all-time favorite holster is already posted on the Forum. You can see it, together with its matching magazine case, in the second post on page 2 of the "Holsters" thread just two below this one. It's a real beauty, RJ. Thank you!

According to Ron Graham's website forum, it looks like he's gotten the nod from Rohrbaugh and they will be selling his holsters exclusively.

More power to him, he makes a nice holster.
That's the hardest web site I have ever tried to navigate. Not doubting you , but where did you find it. :-[

Say what? That sounds like an exclusive arrangement. That wouldn't be good business, IMHO -- and the Rohrbaughs are good businessmen. I would expect them to give the widest possible endorsement for compatible gunleather. Are you sure? Where did you see that?

This is news to me.
I know that Rohrbaugh has had discussions with several holster makers, including Ron.
But, where did you see on Ron's board any mention of an exclusive agreement?
Where you may be confused is (1) NAA has begun to carry several of Ron's holsters and have at least two more models to feature. Ron agreed not to sell any NAA holster directly that is marketed by NAA. (2) There was a post where a person wanted a Kentucky, a front pocket holster, in an exotic leather, for a Rohrbaugh and Ron replied that he had several in the works, but that in the future if Rohrbaugh carries the holster that he would then not sell the holster direct.
It makes sense to me that Rohrbaugh would be interested in Ron's products, especially his exotics, which is his high-end signature line. But nowhere is there any post that claims that Rohrbaugh would exclusively sell his products for their products.
Now, since I'm a big, big Ron Graham fan, I would think it would be great to have an exclusive relationship (hell, I already own 40 of Ron's products, with two orders still pending), but I think that could only be a dream....

Glad to see you back on the forum. I know your Ron’s biggest fan, owning some 40 holsters. I’ve always been amazed by that level of customer loyalty/enthusiasm. I have one customer (non-vendor) that has bought 17 or 18 of my holsters in the last 6 months.
This was the reply by Ron Graham to the inquiry about the “Kentucky” in sharkskin for the Rohrbaugh:
“These holsters will will soon be featured "exclusively" through the Rohrbaugh site at around $89.00 in my "Signature" line.”
Perhaps I misinterpreted his statement. In retrospect, my previous post should have said that it appears Rohrbaugh has decided to feature Ron Graham’s Signature Line holsters exclusively on their site for the R-9/R-9S.
I knew of Ron’s coup at NAA with respect to his holsters being marketed by them. That was certainly a major accomplishment, and also a well-deserved recognition, for him.

I agree that the Rohrbaugh brothers appear to be good businessmen. They are very decisive, and have made quality control of their gun(s) and products they sell/endorse their number one priority. I would expect them to continue at that level until they close their doors – hopefully many years down the road.

My guess is that Rohrbaugh is interested in some of Ron's exotics. That makes sense to me, since the quality of his exotics are unreal given the price. He sells some of his exotics for what Galco sells cowhide for.
But, what is this shit about you wanting to go out of the holster making business? As far as I can tell, KD was growing very well. My guess is that there may be about 80-100 mainstream holster makers, of which maybe 6 have more than 2 designs for pocket guns.
Personal concealed carry is making the pocket pistol is the fastest growing segment in the handgun market. There is plenty of business to go around. Firearm manufacturers, like the Rohrbaugh brothers, need holster makers in order to sell their products. People, like me, will not carry a gun unless it can be carried properly and safely.
Granted, it is difficult to compete in a market dominated by guns like the Kel Tec, since a large portion of that market is drawn to the gun becaue it is cheap. You buy a cheap gun, and it makes sense that you want a cheap holster. But people who are drawn to guns like the Rohrbaugh, Seecamp, NAA Guardian's are take there guns seriously. They want serious leather.
So, don't quit.

You fail to see the beauty of the "Kel-Tec" design. Nothing has it beat for concealment and comfort of carry, and affordability.
Now, there are plenty of choices of more handsome pistols, for example, the NAA 380 is far more handsome that the KT- 3AT, but the *carryability* of the KT can not be overlooked. And it is inexpensive. Cost is a consideration, some must make.

You forgot to quote where I referred to that segment of the market is drawn to it because it is cheap.
Some people are drawn to the gun because it is cheap; not inexpensive-- but cheap. The same people who would buy grain alcohol instead of vodka because it is cheap.
I'm talking about the people who would recycle toilet paper and reuse it if they could. I'm not talking about people on a limited income, or those who were attracted to to the gun because it its weight, size or other reason.

I've been wanting to stop in and say howdy for some time now, but I've just been busy, busy, busy here lately and working late into the nights.
The new forum looks great!
In answer to the above topic, I'm not sure exactly who's holsters the Rohrbaughs will or will not be selling?
I will be making some of my high end exotic "Signature" holsters exclusively for the R-9 and exclusively for Rohrbaugh Firearms, but that's all I'll admit at this point ;)
The initial order leaves in the morning and these will be a new design belt holster and the popular "Kentucky" pocket holsters in reef shark, African ostrich and some limited Elephant. I also have a handle on a very small amount of seal hide from a native American friend and bear hunting guide up in Alaska, but no idea exactly how much or what it looks like?
I've been working a little with horse hide..looks promising..but not far enough into it..to give a opinion.

Building these has been a labor of love, as the R-9 pistol is the "real deal" as far as I'm concerned. I've now put over 600 rds. through mine without a single failure of any sort. This is just one damned fine pistol and mine has not left my person since the day I got it.
The Rohrbaugh brothers stuck to their ideas..took a lot of flak along the way in doing so..but in the end..have a product that..in my humble opinion.... is going to dominate this end of the market for years to come.
First night off in awhile and first real look at the site here..think I'll go and take a look around 8)
