My R9S customized by Ned Christiansen
« on: February 14, 2021, 03:05:11 PM »
I can't even recall when I bought my R9! (its a low 3 digit serial)
Shortly after getting it I showed it to Ned Christiansen (regular contributor to SWAT and a top 1911 smith)
I told him how I did not like the smooth front and back strap so we decided to add his conamyds and due to some issues and Ned talking with Rohrbaugh back then I was able to get a R9S slide for it and somehow Ned got Trit dots in it for me.
Anyway here are a couple pics of it.
Its been the gun Ive carried the most over the past several years.
I do not shoot it often but its nice to know I have it and its as reliable as can be

I just realized I do not have a pic showing the sites but I will add one later.

WatchTimes, your PhotoFu is just fine as is your ideas on modification.

That is a very fine looking handgun.  I really like the work on the front strap and your choice in sighting enhancements.

Good Job.

I have this Cogan Custom and the front and back straps are both checkered at 40 lpi.

They did th3 40 lpi because the metal is so thin at these points.

All Rohrbaughs should have this checkering if they are to be carried in my opinion, it really improves my ability to shoot the pistol quickly and accurately.

I agree with you and have installed Talon tape on my front, back strap, and side panels as an alternative to checkering. They offer three different tape consistencies and it is similar to skate tape but better, imo.
