Wonder why the decision was made not to go with ISMI springs?

Corey,
The ISMI springs were never made for the R9 as far as I know and I only mentioned the dissenting opinion from an obscure past recollection. I think they are superior and so does David Tubb, Champion AR-15 marksman, among others. We inquired about the R9 possibility some two years ago and it apparently was rejected by Rohrbaugh. I have no interest in ISMI other than seeking the best product.

To suggest an answer to your question about why they did not go with IMSI springs I do not know but Wolff is in the spring business and planned obsolescence or regular replacement is the name of the game.
I don't feel that ISMI is the same but that is only an opinion.

I checked the Wolff site and the only technical specs they reference is that they only use the "finest quality spring wire." Please draw your own conclusion and continue to replace your recoil springs every 200 rounds.
