Title: Got the itch - Itch scratched and pic added
Post by: thor447 on February 23, 2012, 07:56:08 PM
Ever get that hole in your pocket when you have a few extra dollars and just want to go to the gun store and see if anything catches your eye?  I got it bad right now.  I think it's because I'm waiting on my new Seecamp to get delivered to my FFL that I purchased from Tom at Irish Guard.  I'm headed to the store to see if anything catches my attention.  I don't know if it will be a good or a bad thing if I find something.   However it may turn out, I'll let you guys know.  haha  - Adam

Wasn't even thinking and added pic to a new post, first post on page 2.

Adam:

Since you are waiting on a Seecamp and have the "itch," the only antipruritic I have at hand would be a photograph of my wife's LWS32 in its Hedley holster, old ivory grips, and custom storage box (for whatever symptomatic relief all of that might provide):

Richard that is awesome.

The itch has been scratched.  Camera on the phone is horrible.   To keep the suspense, pics and info will come when I get home.

Very nice, indeed, RS.

Adam.  You're going to love the Seecamp.

Jack,

Why buy the M&P over the SR22 other than two more rounds in the S&W?

The SR22 felt a lot smaller in my hand...........and I felt bad having to say that I didn't own a M&P.......... ::)

Now, I do know that feeling.  The M & P does feel good.  I haven't tried the SR22; now waiting on the Colt 1911 .22  to see how that stacks up!    :)

I won't know until I shoot the M&P.....at 85% full size the Browning is a little small for me......after a few hundred rounds I have a red mark on the webbing of my hand.....nothing serious.......the sights are very small on the Browning...not a Bullseye pistol.......... :)

I know a couple of guys who have the SR22 and they are very ammo sensitive, I will be going with the M&P as I like my M&P 40c a lot, it just seems to point very natural and feels really good in my hand. ;D

OK, got my new toy(s) home and uploaded a pic.  I picked up the SW Bodyguard 1st Edition Box Set #566 of 2000 that someone had put up on consignment for 850.  It also came with the original shipping boxes for the case and each individual pistol with all the correct paperwork and First Edition sleeves.  Pretty cool little set at a good price.

I even picked up a box of ammo for the Seecamp which USPS cannot seem to deliver fast enough!

Well as we all know there all different,
Look at the pups, my pup has shot everything I put in and thats around ten brands & every bullet weight from 147gr to 95gr. ;D
Not everyone can claim that with there pup.

I watched one of these fussy SR22s in person and it was one of the worst I have seen.

I know that feeling all too well! Just picked up a new SIG a few weeks ago and couldn't leave it alone. Had to have these Esmerelda grips...

I was in a Gun Store yesterday where they also had a range.  They added a SR22 to their "rental fleet" hoping to boost sales.  Everyone has given it bad reviews so far.

I also have an M&P 22. It is loads of fun to shoot, eats everything you feed it and is also very close in size to my other M&P's. S&W along with Walther did a good job on this pistol. This afternoon I am going to get an M&P15-22 MOE to go along with it.
Should be a fun weekend.

I did not ask.  I am not interested at all and I just heard another guy asking about it.  The store guy said they were very disappointed and could not believe Ruger put it out.  Just not typical of their work.

Wow, with all this I'm thinking about going back and getting an M&P 22.  However, I really cannot find anything wrong to speak about on my Buckmark 22.  Perhaps only the cost and availability of extra mags.  But that sure is a great pistol as well.

The M&P 22 will be a great basic defense training gun.....I bought mine for beginning students to use.... ;) now it's a tax write off......... ;)

Well I got the Seecamp in today, and wow!  Craftsmanship is outstanding, the smell of Eezox has filled the room, and I am a happy guy.  This is the first firearm I have ever bought sight unseen.  Thanks Tom at Irish Guard for helping me out.  Attached is a little pic I took for a friend of mine with the Seecamp on top of my Colt Defender (compact 1911) so he could grasp how small the Seecamp is.

It's been a good gun week.  Got the Bodyguard First Edition box set, the Seecamp, and even got in 18 holes this morning.  Look out!!  I'm on a roll!

The Colt Defender is a great carry gun, I had the New Agent but the trench sights took a little getting used to.

Yes the Defender is an exceptional firearm, but definitely a cold weather gun to conceal properly.  It lately has taken a back seat to the R9 as my daily carry and has found a new home in the nightstand.
