Of SIG and pumpkin
« on: September 15, 2005, 04:20:43 PM »
Visited with wife yesterday to see her sister - they grow all sorts of squashes and also some pumpkins.

Thought this fella night be of interest - it is estimated right now to be around 160# and it is hard to even lift it on one side!!  It's still on the vine and will be a while yet.

Naturally - had to make things gun oriented so - SIG in place for scale! ;) :)

Let's see.....BIG pumpkin, loaded SIG.
Where's the second picture?  The one with the shattered pumpkin?

If your mean ol' sister-in-law wouldn't let you shoot the big pumpkin, did she at least let you pop a small one?  Say a 50 pounder?   ;D

Hahaha - well as would be predictable - the thought of a +P GD was considered LOL!  This pumpkin was tho ''spoken for'' as in I think bought and paid for, so I'd have lost some serious brownie points if I'd popped it!

There were some smaller ones around but just didn't think of using one.  I was also shooting some rounds thru 45-70 BFR and would like to have tried one of those too :D

I bought a sack of the cheapest potatoes, and have those for plinking when we go up to northern Michigan.

Eventually, I'll hit one, and will report back if it 'explodes'.   :)

You guys need to come up to the Alaska State Fair in Palmer, this year's Big Pumpkin was 707 pounds.  Not as big as last years, but still a lot of pie!
