Suppressors
« on: February 16, 2017, 05:47:01 PM »
Any Suppressor fans here? I have a .22 Warlock 2, and three host weapons. Also a Osprey .40 and three host weapons.

They area ton of fun to shoot and always draw crowds at the range. Took a 9 month WAIT for each but in the end was worth it. Cleaning them is a MAJOR pain in the butt but it's part of the game.

I got some, waiting on some others to get out of NFA jail.

Hopefully some proposed changes will come through and they will be as easy and cheap to get in the US as they are in Europe soon.

All of this aggravation may soon be a thing of the past, I hope.

My brother travels to Brussels 2-3 times a month, that's where the corporate office is. He told me in Belgium, and France handguns are VERY hard to come by but suppressors are sold over the counter in hardware stores. They are primarily for farmers, their farms are TINY compared to American farms, and with people so close they are sold for pest control without bothering neighbors.

Take a look at this webpage from the UK.

http://www.saddleryandgunroom.co.uk/Gunroom/SG_Hushpower.htm

They have been doing the sound suppression stuff for a lot longer than we have and are inexpensive and pretty good at it.  Like a lot of other places, place your money on the counter, take the can home.

My hope is that if suppressors are removed from the NFA list, they can become as cheap and easy to get here.  Others have said, if OSHA was in charge of firearms, silencers would be mandatory.

I would really like a suppressed .20 gauge O/U as shown in the above link.

The way I understand it the suppressors in Europe are inexpensive but are made more as a disposable piece of equipment.
It makes sense as "sport shooting" as we know it,just doesn't exist.
Just used as a tool!

Crazy laws we have. Heck you could get a fully auto Thompson from Sears THROUGH THE MAIL till the mid 1930's. Bet there more than a few still in basements and attics.  :P :P :P :P :P
