Title: New Addition
Post by: yankee2500 on February 06, 2010, 12:44:49 PM
Here is my newest addition, a Kimber Ultra CDP II.
I added a Wilson Combat MSH with removable magwell, and a pair of Esmeralda Custom grips with Celtic Cross.
It shoots great and is easy to CC, very happy with it.

What a beautiful pistol! And those Esmeralda grips take one's breath away. I have long admired her work and am just looking for the excuse to order a set of grips from her. For any not familiar with Esmeralda's work, just check this link and enjoy:

Very nice!,

A lot of Kimber bashing on other forums, I have an Aegis II 9mm and an Ultra carry II with RCP grips that have been nothing but reliable, glad yours has been a good one too.

Yes, I noticed the Kimber bashing on the other sites. Some say it is because of the MIM parts but others just do it because it "shows you know all about guns". But I think it is because Kimber has actually placed themselve in a very enviable position. They are smack in the middle of the low priced $500 guns and the high end $2000 guns. So the guys with the $500 guns complain about Kimber because they wanted one but could not afford one (Sound Familiar), The guys with the $2000 guns complain about Kimber because they dare to be close in Quality for 1/2 the price, so they tend to nit pic it.
Just a theory but I think it is close. I have never met e Kimber owner who does not like his piece.  I think they are an excellant value and fine gun. By the way, they have just released a new Super Carry Line at the shot show.

 (Notice the Ed Brown bobtail)

I really like that CDP with the Esmeraldas, beautiful . Good choices.

John, good looking Celtic Cross grips there and oh the pistol looks great also. I can just see you after cleaning that jewel just rubbing the grips while drinking a Bushmills Black Bush.  Tom

I never tried Bushmills Black Bush, What would it compair to? I am mostly a Scotch Drinker but my wife Prefers Middleton's Irish. She got hooked on it during our Last trip to
Ireland. (I am not allowed anywhere near her Middleton's, except she does occasionly let me smell it  ;D )

Chief, Bushmills is a great Irish Whiskey, Black Bush is really very good every day drinking Irish. However, go buy a bottle of Bushmills 21 year old single malt....then you and your wife can compare the two, that way you get some of her Middletons. I've had both but like the Bushmills 21 better, more character.  Tom

Thanks everyone for all the kind words, I was more impressed with the grips after I saw them in person, the pics do not do them justice.

Here's to women's kisses,
and to Irish whiskey, amber clear;
Not as sweet perhaps as women's kisses,
but often more sincere!

In my limited experience the two are synergistic; most of the times I've gotten into trouble involved both.
