I ordered and received a holster from RJ Hedley, (who is a member of this forum), and I like it very much. Inside the pants holster which will work in Vermont but will stay home in NJ.

It's a little weird but I have the holster before I have the gun.

Brenden,

W rules and thank you for your advice which I know to be true.

Duane,

I didn't convince RJ of anything; I just ordered the holster and my perception is that it is an inside the pants holster.

It is made such that a right handed person, placing it in a right front pocket, would have the "public side" of the gun outline hidden from view.

Please bear in mind that I have no reference point nor is there any opportunity in NJ for me to really know what I'm talking about, given the fact that there is no Shall Issue CCW in this state.

I defer to the maker, RJ to comment as necessary.

RJ,

Good One, but I still don't get the humor even though it is at my expense.

NJ gun owners are not used to references to holsters and you will have to speak to the criminals.

Bad guys are the only people who carry in NJ, besides LEO, and they love gun laws.

PCA,

Not meaning to leave you in the dark...

"Inside the pants" holster is a common term for what is also referred to (perhaps more commonly) as an "inside the waistband" or "IWB" holster -- i.e., one that attaches to the belt but is worn inside the waistband of one's pants.

The holster you ordered is just a "pocket holster."  The reason for my comment is that RJ has been asked in the past to do IWB or belt style holsters and has generally refused -- preferring to focus on pocket holsters.  When you described the holster the way you did -- it confused me as to what you were getting, thats all.

Now I understand, and all is right with the world.  ;)

Duane,

I thank you and apologize for my density. However, all is not right with the world. What we have to do is remove New Jersey from the world and everything will be okay.

Give me 5 minutes head start and I'll head for paradise, aka, Pennsylvania 8)

I am happy to say that I am FROM New Jersey...

Should we open a separate discussion area for NJ bashing?  :D

Duane,

No, we should create an entire new website for NJ bashing. How much do I owe?

NJ is a beautiful state with nice beaches, easy access to the City, mountains, and hell the southern most part is south of the Mason Dixon line.  Of course as PCA says if you want to own a gun you need to train with the circus for the amount of hoops you need to jump through.
