Completely disassembled R9s today!
« on: May 12, 2010, 08:52:58 PM »
Had a grip screw that the 1/16 hex stripped out  >:( so I had to drill it out! I used 3 different size LEFT hand drill bits I had laying around starting with a 5/64. Worked perfectly! ;) Anyway after seeing the small metal fragments I decided to give it a complete cleaning, It was quite simple the only tools used were a small punch and a golf tee (pictured to the right), here are some pic's!

That is a first on this forum to my knowledge; thank you for posting this one. I was especially interested in seeing the hammer spring. How easy or difficult was the reassembly?

That is a long knocker's golf tee.

Back in the day I could Knock it 300+ but over the years I lost about 40 yds.

I used the punch to line up the mag catch after depressing the spring, the diameter of the punch is smaller than the pin so it slides right in then you can work the pin in without hurting your fingers!

Thanks, great pix's.

I've completely disassembled my Seecamps many times.  Pix look very familiar.  I believe I could do my R9 now.

Thanks,

I'd also be very interested in a step by step guide, along with any potential difficult areas and what needs to be re-lubed upon reassembly
