See if Williams still has parts:

With regard to warranty service on existing Rohrbaugh pistols:

Frist, he apologized for the delay in getting the warranty service up and going.  He said that he worked hard to find the right place to outsource the repairs.  Remington did not want an "armorer" level service to swap parts--they wanted a true gunsmithing operation.  Williams was interested, but wanted to do some homework on the gun before agreeing to take on the responsibility.  Ultimately, they accepted, of course.  He felt like his main job was to get a quality system in place, not to rush the process.

Dan assures me that Williams has a large supply of parts.  He described it as four pallets of parts.  He is confident that they will be able to fully service warrantied pistols for "years" to come.  He also stated that the guns run very well, and he doesn't expect an onslaught of claims.   He did not say, but he implied, that by the time the parts run out, Remington will be making new versions of the R9.

I think this is the best assurances we can hope for at this point.  He seemed genuinely concerned that Rohrbaugh customers would be supported and pleased with Remington.

Is Williams still providing Rohrbaugh warranty service now that Remington declared bankruptcy?

Don’t know...doubt it.

I just spoke with Williams Gunsight in Michigan at 800 530-9028. The gunsmith extension is 235, but Alex who previously did the Rohrbaugh warranty work is no longer with the company. The person I spoke to said that they are no longer doing warranty work but would do repairs and sell parts if they are available for the Rohrbaugh.

Hoserack—-I don’t have any extra stainless grip screws but I do have extra black ones from some I bought from another member a few years ago.  They are identical to the original ones except they're black

Be glad to send a few to you at no charge if you’d like—-just PM me the address where you’d like them sent.

I live about 45 minutes from William's. I wonder what they would charge for a complete "parts kit" for an R9 if I walked in. They sold me a silver, gray, and black set of factory R9 aluminum grips that I love. If I make a trip over there, I would take orders for parts. I would only charge USPS rate for shipping.

I got grip screws from William's for a few dollars, only problem was the $20 shipping and handling.

But they are still performing repairs for a fee?

I was the member with the black grip screws.

They are all gone but I still have some SS ones.

I'm a newbie to this...would you recommend stocking up on grip screws?  I'm already doing so with recoil springs...Wolff assured me that they will keep supplying them, but I am paranoid.

Gonna bump this and hope for some responses.

Does anyone know the size, specs, etc of the original grip screws.  I'm going to start stocking up on parts that are likely to need replacing and/or prone to breaking, and grip screws would be amongst those. I know I was able to buy a box of replacement screws for my Remington RM380...it was not a particularly uncommon size, and I just bought a box of 100 or so for, if memory serves, like $25.  That certainly would be the way to go if these screws aren't proprietary to the Rohrbaugh.

Ref. the grip screws. . . . . . They are a standard screw but of an odd size making you buy a box of 1,000 at a time!
No, unfortunately, I don't recall the actual size or name of the screw. I'm sure if you went to a machinist supply house, they would be able to tell you the size and pitch of the threads. Getting old I suppose, sorry.

So it is 1/16", but I would still need to know the recommended length, correct?

I think the size of the screws are:   #3 (3/32") by 48 (48 threads per inch) Countersunk Flat Head for Hex Wrenches by 1/4" long.

Now, where to get them is a big problem, especially if you want stainless.  They are quite uncommon as Eric alluded to.  Good luck.

Added later:

I looked up McMaster-Carr and it looks like they have them.  Please verify my size to be sure.

Could you possible post a link to the specific screw you bought?  I stared at the page MRC linked too above and--no surprise--I'm apparently too slow to figure out exactly which screws I need.  (Can't seem to find the one that matches the specs discussed above.).

Thanks very much!!

That is the right screw according to the CAD drawing from the other thread.

I hope that guy is right as I did not check anything.  Good luck.     :) :)

Keep us posted when they arrive and if they are correct.

(You know you could do the community a service and part ways with a few to other owners so they don't have to buy a large bag, fairly compensated of course.)

Wow they came today!  That was CRAZY fast.  They do work and look identical to factory ones.

I'm not big on shipping stuff out but I do have more screws than I'll ever use, lol.

Good deal, now someone needs to get in the grip screw replacement business on here.

That offer is good for everyone.

I was surprised to find that my screws arrived in today's mail.  Man, they really do ship fast.

And I was even more surprised (although, in retrospect, I perhaps should have guessed) that the screws are the exact size (from the same maker) as the spare screws I bought a couple of years ago for my Remington RM380.

To say that I now have enough screws for a few lifetimes would be an understatement.   ;D

For those that are looking for black grip screws, McMaster Carr also has black-oxide coated steel scews in the same size. (#3-48 x 1/4" with 82-degree countersunk head).  They are not stainless steel, so they may rust lightly over time, but at that price you can just replace them.

They are listed at $6.24 for a pack of 25 screws.  The part number is 91253A092
