Carbon Fiber Grips now available.

I’ve been in contact with a grip manufacturer who makes beautiful, quality Carbon Fiber grips.
I am sending him a set of R9 grips this coming week for him to use as a “mold”.
He will be able get the R9 CF grips into production soon after.

The grips will be available in either Gloss or Satin.

Only "Black" Carbon Fiber will be available at this time.

Estimated price for a set of R9 CF grips is $75.00

These will NOT have the Rohrbaugh logo.

Here is a sample of his work.  

At this time, I am going to be the sole distributor for the R9 Carbon Fiber grips.

 Nice looking grips, cant wait to see the Rohrbaugh models. Will there be different finishes available? (Gloss, Satin) I contacted a carbon fiber mfg. about purchasing some material to make a set of grips with, and they offer a high gloss and a satin finish.

I don't have a dog in this hunt because I own an early production R9S with CF grips (plus a set of the Hogue G-10 grips for everyday use).

The CF grips being offered thru Curt are NOT knockoffs.  

Knockoffs are parts which are made to deceive unwary buyers.
Lots of new R9 owners would like to get CF grips, but the factory isn't making any more.  Relatively few sets were produced, and the OEM CF grip owners are holding onto theirs.

Sorry for coming down hard on your choice of words, but there's a big difference at stake.  You'll find the overwhelming majority of Rohrbaugh forum members are stand-up people.

The new grips will not be sold or represented as "Rohrbaugh" grips.
They will not have the "Rohrbaugh" logo.

They will be very well made 100% genuine Carbon Fiber grips made to fit a Rohrbaugh R9.

Just to state the obvious -- the grip fit is critical to proper functioning of the pistol.  Not to say it can't be done, but the interior dimensions are very important.

I'm very interested in these as well, provided the tolerances for the trigger spring and the two locating pins are tight.

I really don't want to revisit the issues I had with the Rohrbaugh aluminum grips with these...

Regarding any concerns about maintaining the grip's tight internal tolerances required for proper function of the R9.

I just received an e-mail from the manufacturer where he addressed this concern.

See below:

There seems to be some concern about the interior cutout on the grips and if it will function correctly with the mechanical parts of the gun.
I use a two-piece mold that reproduces the exact interior shape of the originals, so there should be absolutely no issues concerning the mechanics of the gun.
It will only be the outside of the grip that will differ in the fact that it will be smooth and without the logo.

Just sent you an email Curt, count me in.  

I now have a pair of Rohrbaugh aluminum grips on my R9s and they have work fine on my gun for over 400 rounds.  

 I will post them on the forum for sale when I get my gloss CF's.
