Speaking of mixed emotions!
Eeeeehaw its here!
Darn, they are closed!

Congratulations....I think :P
Talk about anticipation! I bet the next two days of waiting will be tougher than the last month's worth :)
-
Congratulations, Duane! You're going to love it.
Now, if RJ's would hurry up and arrive . . . .

I feel so ... special!
But then again... I feel like when I was 8 years old lying in bed at 2am on Christmas morning watching the clock click to 2:01, 2:02, 2:03...
-
>:( Mine won't EVER get here.... :P
Eric, are you feelin' my pain ??
-
Congrats...
I was told that hopefully by the end of this month.. 8)
I am VERY stoked!!! I know you must be too...
-
RJ, I think that you'd be up there on the list by now if "the squeeky wheel" rule applies ;D
-
RJ - I feel for you! It ain't easy.
Duane - excellent news ..... tho maybe soured by the seemingly endless wait induced by another 2 days! I have little doubt you'll be quick to appraise and test - and then come back to write that up.
-
Eric, if you're reading this, don't you think RJ needs his soon? He has been a great ambassador for you!!! edited to add: RJ, I would like one of your holsters and am ordering one tonight.
-
Eric appears to be entirely immune (due to overexposure, no doubt) to begging, pleading and otherwise trying to finagle a jump in the line... Believe me -- I tried.
RJ -- when did you order? You have to be up soon.
-
As I posted on another thread here, I appreciate and respect Eric's integrity regarding orders. I don't know RJ other than through his posts, which I have enjoyed, and was being a lttle tongue in cheek when I posted this. I also hope I didn't offend RJ with this post as I am sure he feels the same.
-
So, how many hours do you have to go, DDGator? ;D :P
-
You tell me, K-Man! ;D
-
Here is what you do Duane ....... (http://www.acbsystems.com/images/smilies/zzzz.gif) (http://www.acbsystems.com/images/smilies/ticktick2_main.gif)

-
"I appreciate and respect Eric's integrity regarding orders" Jimacp
And so do I, but the complaining seems to help me. :D
~~~~~~~~~~
Gator
Can't remember exactly when I ordered, but think it was in April. But it doesn't matter, I'm still antsy ! :'(
-
~~~~Good news / bad news~~~~~
Good news first, My gun is about two weeks away. :D
Now, the bad news, that's 14 days !! , and nights :'(
Does this mean I can't give any more hints to Eric? ???
-
that's 14 days !!
RJ ... yep - no more hints now!!!
Hmmm .... 336 hours - or 20,160 minutes - or 1,209,600 seconds. ......... and counting ........... !!
Good news tho - very good news. :)
-
I wish I had of ordered two weeks sooner, that would have worked. :)
-
;D Damn, I've got about exactly two months to go.....for my second one to arrive. ;D
-
Now TBob, that's a tease .... :)
-
TxBob ... you and me both!! Reckon my #2 is about same time frame - and meantime I am using my #1 more than I really wanted too - cos it is so darned convenient!
-
Duane:
Can you put a RJHedley 14 day countdown clock on the site?
-
I am crossing my fingers that this approaching Hurricane Charley doesn't mess up delivery / pick-up!
-
DDGator
Today is your day, isn't it? ;D
-
Today is the day -- barring any unforseen problems...
I will update everyone later.
-
The UPS shipment to my dealer hasn't arrived yet and Pinellas County (where I live) now has the largest mandatory evacuation order in its history.
Hurricane Charley has its sights set on the Tampa Bay area. I don't personally have to evacuate, but the Interstates are expecting to become parking lots as 200,000 evacuate waterfront and low-lying areas...
It's not looking good.
-
That sux .... all this wait and now Mother Nature is making it get delayed! Hope all works out Ok with weather tho - and that things can get back to normal quick.
-
Good luck, Duane! It looks like you all are in for a wild ride down there with this hurricane. Stay safe.
RS
-
I am just 35 miles SSE from Gator..
-
So far at least RJ ... East seems the better direction to be in.
Sincerely hope you guys weather the storm OK.
-
A bit further than that RJ -- my residence is actually in Clearwater. I am right in the middle of the Pinellas County penninsula.
Right now it looks like this freaking storm is headed right up the mouth of Tampa Bay -- and most likely as a Category 3. We haven't taken a hit like this since 1921. Over 380,000 people have been ordered to evacuate by 6am tomorrow. They are saying that is the largest peace-time evacation every ordered in the U.S.
Its getting a bit crazy. Everything is closed and boarded up. I am a bit worried about my roof surviving the estimated 4+ hours of 120 mph winds.
I will update for as long as I can stay on the 'net. We are not in an evacuation zone so we are riding it out at home. This could get ugly.
Right now we are still getting some clouds and rain from the passing of Tropical Storm Bonnie. The Hurricane Charley weather should start to arrive in the morning.
And -- the R-9 didn't make it home for me to play with either!
-
"All objects" are replaceable, human life isn't. Hunker down and stay safe.
-
Well. if anytime with your name on it blows by here, I'll send it Back to you..
Be careful, keep your head down...
-
Yes, you guys in FL be safe! Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater, ect... is like a second home to me as I've been going down there ever since my early childhood. That and being on this forum makes me feel like we're next door neighbors. Your sincerely in my thoughts!
-
You guys be careful, and stay safe.
-
RJ and Duane:
I'll be up several times during the night watching the progress of that storm. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours, my friends. Hang in there!
RS
-
Thanks guys... I think I have the "lead" position in taking the brunt of this storm. We will see. We have done everything we can. Its all over now but the waiting. It will be over by Saturday morning and we can assess the damage.
I'll keep ya posted. Maybe post some pics later from the eye of the storm!

Duane:
To invoke the old NASA blessing, "God Speed."

-
I'll add my bit again .. seriously guys .. rooting for you. I am not a religious guy but sure as heck, you are in my thoughts.
Mother nature is awesome and scary sometimes .. and we are but feeble and small entities. Do all you can to keep heads down and ride this out .... and i hope very much that come the weekend, you can report back in with some positive news .. here's hoping.
-
We are in the calm before the storm. Took some "before" pictures of my house...
They are saying this is looking like a "worst case scenario" for Pinellas County and the whole Tampa Bay area -- right up the mouth of the bay. 110+ mph sustained winds. Gusts over 125 mph.
Never seen anything like this. I feel like I have to go do something...
Thanks for the thoughts. Will keep you posted. The hurricane force winds are expected from about 8pm to 11pm.
-
Dang it, I hate it has to hit at night ! It has been a long time since I have gone through this, but I still remember
*Hurricane Dona*
-
Thinking of you guys and wishing you and yours, and your property the best during the big winds. If I wasn't all the way over here on the left coast I'd come over and help you nail up plywood. LUCK!
-
Just seen it now called a Cat' 4 .. and 145 mph winds ... oh my, that is one big mother. I continue to wish everyone there a safe transition thru to calmer times. Knowing I can do nothing to help is more than frustrating. :(
-
We just had a tornado pass within 15 miles east of here, heading North. 20 minutes ago..
All is well at the Hedleys..
-
I am glad, RJ! Now lets hope the same for DDGator.
-
Looks like we dodged a SERIOUS bullet. Around 3pm they called a major right (east) turn and it made landfall as a Category 4 around Port Charlotte, south of Sarasota.
Effects here are expected to be minimal -- some Gale force winds and rain.
Whew...
RJ and K-Man will get worse weather than me now. Just goes to show the level of uncertainty in those computer models.
-
RJ and Duane:
Lord, that thing is now a Category IV! Hang on! I'm headed up to the cabin tonight and will be off-line until Sunday evening. I'll be watching the storm's progress by Direct TV and hoping you all stay dry and safe.

You guys in FL-keep yer heads down..
My wife lived in Clearwater for several years, and worked LE and then in the 911 center in Pinellas County..
She still has a lot of friends there..
They do mandatory OT and the employees sleep, eat and work at the command center..
Wish all the best and may the winds go around you...
Bless you all..
-
I am in the clear. Hope the rest of you guys are...
Punta Gorda has sustained huge damgage. Day-break will be interesting down there.
Orlando is taking a pounding with sustained Hurricane-force winds and over 12" of rain the the last few hours.
-
Back to the subject of this post initially... ITS HERE!
After sitting in town for 4 days (I didn't think it would sit for 4 hours), I finally took delivery of my R-9s.
Here she sits in my K&D Pocket Defender and mag carrier -- with Friday's paper (Friday the 13th, I might add).

Duane .... EXCELLENT!!!! At last eh!! Glad to hear that. Soon perhaps you'll get a chance to try out and then come back with your impressions etc.
You may know my proclivity for meddling when it comes to pics ..... so tweaked yours and shrunk a bit .... hope you don't mind! I know print l;ess easy to read but, sorta brightened things up. ! :)
