Second Amendment Considerations
« on: June 18, 2008, 05:24:03 PM »
"Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not."

~ Thomas Jefferson

1. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

2. A gun in the hand is better than a law enforcement officer on the telephone.

3. Colt: The original point and click interface.

4. Gun control is not about guns; it's about control.

5. If guns are outlawed, will we be allowed to carry swords?

6. If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words.

7. Law abiding free men do not need permission to bear arms.

8. If you don't know your rights, you might as well not have any.

9. Those who trade liberty for security wind up with neither.

10. What part of "shall not be infringed" do you not understand?

11. The Second Amendment protects all others.

12. More than 64 million owners of firearms harmed no one yesterday.

13. Firearms have only three enemies; neglect, rust, and certain ambitious politicians.

14. Know guns, know peace, know safety. No guns, no peace, no safety.

15. You don't need a gun to kill; you need a gun to stay alive.

16. When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

17. Assault is a behavior, not a device.

18. Criminals love gun control; it makes their jobs easier and a whole lot safer.

19. If guns cause crime, then matches cause arson, forks cause obesity, and all of my guns are defective.

20. Only a government that fears its citizens will attempt to ban ownership of firearms.

21. You will eventually have only those rights for which you are willing to fight to preserve.

22. Enforce the gun control laws we ALREADY have; don't make more.

23. Removing the right of law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms is the first step toward removing their freedom.

Richard, This list should be required reading in all schools. Each line should be discussed and understood by all students.  For that matter it should be understood by all teachers. Dan

Richard, I know that this is old.  I was just reading some of the older posts that were created long before I was a member of this forum and just wanted to bring this up to the front of the list so a few more people like myself who haven't read this before could see it.   Fantastic post!

You're doing your homework; have read and reread the old posts many times; always interesting.

I remember this one also...this time I've copied it into my documents file and will forward it onward...unfortunately my address book is such that I will undoubtedly be preaching to the choir.
