;D I picked up the hooked extensions an hour ago from the anodize shop and will have them all shipped today or tomorrow
The straight extensions are not machined yet, but I will post as soon as I have an update.
Anyone who ordered Hooked and Straight extensions will receive the hooked units now, and I will ship the straight units as soon as I get them.
I want to thank everyone for there patience and support during this rather long process.

John,
Today (02/19) I got my hooked extensions.
They look absolutely great and the fit is awesome.
Thank you so much for all your efforts and dedication to get the extensions done. It is obvious that you put a lot of time and energy in the process.
You da man!!

John--mine arrived today as well---all I can say is WOW!! The fit and finish is perfect and the color (black) matches exactly!!!
THANK YOU for all your hard work to make these for all of us!!!
-
I got mine! ;D
Thanks John for a gentlemens job well done!
Are there more black hooked ones available?

Thanks for all the kind words, glad I could make a useful contrabution to such a fine firearm and group of owners.
There are plenty of Black hooked extensions available and some of the silver.
I will call the machine shop on Monday to see were we are on the straight extensions.

John,
Got my two hooked extensions today. They look wonderful on the R9. I like your design better than IDM's. They seem to fit the CNC'd lines of the pup perfectly.
I haven't shot with them on, but I can tell there will be improved control and grip.
You did a fantastic job. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to get these produced for us.
-
John,
I agree with everyone that the extensions are perfect and better than I had expected, great job! As far as look, lines and match it really is outstanding and adds to the gun.
One thing I will mention that I did not take into account is the length of the extension is actually pretty important. I can only get two fingers above the hook, which is probably the same for everyone (I have bigger hands but not huge). This leaves a little extra length than I would wish for because I like to have a very tight feel to my grip. I believe this is going to be a very personal preference thing. I will take it to the range and see, maybe I should've gotten the straight instead of the hooked. Thanks again John.

Just received mine in the mail today John. I echo the sentiments of everyone who has seen them in person as well. They're so professionally done that you'd think they're from the factory! As a matter of fact, if the Rohrbaugh Crest/Coat of Arms was on the bottom, you could fool anyone. Rohrbaugh should start buying these from you!
Can't wait to try out the new grip once my gun gets back from the smith...
Thanks so much yet again, and I look forward to seeing the straight ones as well.

John, Thanks for all of your hard work and effort in getting this done for forum members who have wanted these for a long time. Tom

Just got my 2 extensions today...... ;D ;D ;D
I'm very happy with them and I think I'll get one more. Thanks again for doing this for the Forum members. You did a great job!
-
The machine shop called this morning and said the straight extensions are ready to be picked up. I hope to get there before the end of the week and drop them off to be anodized the same day. I will post an update when they are ready to ship.
Anyone who e-mailed me or tried to contact me and did not receive a response, please send me another message. My computer crashed and I have no way of getting any info off the old unit.

I received my order the other day; they installed easily and fit great in my hand.
Great job on this John, I really appreciate your hard work.
Thanks again for adding the mag release groove !
;D
-
This extension is fantastic! A beautiful piece of work, thank you for pursuing this.
-
I have mine and I agree - fit and finish are perfect. They installed without a hitch.
I got the hooked mag extensions and they work great for me, but not for my husband. The grip is enhanced for me so that my pinky now fits completely on the grip. His hands are large enough that he can still only get 2 full fingers on the grip and the angle of the hooked extension throws off the rest of his grip.
If he had an R9- the straight mag extensions might work better for him.
-
MrsFosforos. Buy that husband an R9! ;D

Yep and we know Tom, the best connection for Rorhbaughs - just 20 miles away ... but he'd rather shoot his G19.
-
I understand! I do like a Glock.

Here are some pictures - sorry for the blurred quality, the camera is a point and shoot -- not very good for close up shots:

Thanks for the pictures. The extension looks great and makes a place for that finger. Again, thanks!
-
WOW - those look great! How do I get some?

MrsFosforos,
Thanks for the pics, looks like a real good fit for your hand.
bubbacloud,
Welcome to the group.
-
Thanks John, I love mine also, great job.
-
Dino. Sorry for jumping threads here, but have you shot your Ruger Blackhawk in the LC. Just wondering!
-
The straight extensions have shipped. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks John. Looking forward to your straight extension. I shot it today and with the porting and your grip, it's WAY MORE controllable! The straight one should be a little more comfortable in my hand though...
Mark
-
Mark. That is one excellent looking pup!
-
Thanks. I told Corey I hated to be a copycat and use his ideas, but they were too good. Bob is a master I have to say. The checkering on the trigger guard works perfectly as well. My finger used to slip off of it on every shot before, but not anymore.
Mark
-
Corey's ideas are excellent, for sure. I don't think he minds.
-
I sure hope not or else I'm in big trouble!!!

You're good to go! :) :)
-
kj, sorry to say but no I have not shot the Ruger. 34 inches of snow so far this year. Now that it has melted maybe soon. I did find a great deal on Winchester LC's at a hole in the wall gun and hardware store on a back road in Moneta VA. $30 a box, I bought the last 3 boxes with a smile. Will post when I have some range time under "other guns".
-
Dino. Great you found some Winchester LC's. I found some on LuckyGunner, but they were lead round point. I was hoping for jacketed flat point. Still looking.
Hope your snow is gone soon.
-
John,
Any chance if you get these remade you could have an adjustment on some that are 1/4" shorter? I would think it would be a pretty easy program change on the CNC.
-
The problem with a minor change is they need to write a new program, and price for the parts is based on the number purchased. So unless there was a large demand for a revised unit it wouldn't be worth it.
John
-
John,
Thanks, and thanks for this extension, very happy I have it.
-
John,
I'll be watching my mailbox with great anticipation until it's arrival.
Thank you again for all your time, effort and perseverance in making these extensions become a reality.
Regards, Quiet1
