Title: New mags vs old mags
Post by: jarcher on September 23, 2006, 05:15:29 PM
After something of a hiatus I have become interested in my R9 again.  I didn’t pocket carry it much this summer because the weight was threatening to yank my shorts down, which would not have been a good thing.  My P3AT is much lighter, so it became my summer companion.  But in cooler weather, the R9s is the winner.

Anyhow, I have come back and have been doing some catch up reading.  I saw mention of “new magazines” that don’t have a weld in the back.  I checked Chris’ FAQ site and there was also a mention of the “new” magazines.

Can someone please tell me when this change occurred and what the difference is?  Was the change just a manufacturing issue or did it change the functioning of the pistols in some way?

Thanks!
