Magazine spring orientation

Which way does the mag spring sit, high end forward, or open end forward?

I always wondered about that. Is it a big deal which way it goes?I am not trying to be sarcastic. I always was kind of wondering if it made a difference.

Good. That’s what I did....just makes sense. I clumsily let a spring fly changing the mag extension...had to move a storage cabinet to find the dang thing.  Fortunately, kept my finger on the follower.
