I was checking out the subject of Point Shooting today, and discovered something new.
The index finger (next to the thumb) runs parallel with the slide and points to the target.
The middle finger (longest) is used to pull the trigger.
Would you subscribe to this method, or is it an unusual variation?

Might work Bill - for some.
Color me traditional (and dyed-in-the-wool!) but too late at my time of life to change.
I translate ''normal'' presentation to point shooting thru the expedient of consistency (attempted) of grip, and muscle memory aquired thru practice.
One of my drills for this year is just this, mostly from retention and also throwing in more movement drills. Great temptation might be for many folks, to stand still and draw - probably not the best if someone zeroing on you or dashing with a knife!

That technique is getting popular; however, it is not for me.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to give up having one of their stronger fingers around the grip of the gun. Recoil control and followup shots would have to be adversely affected.

Unorthodox; bad habit forming idea. As long as you're confident that you can "Point" your finger at your target; you'll do it already automatically with a proper grip & properly fitted (to your hand) pistol..! Practice..!

I just tried dry firing my R9S with my middle finger. Couldn't do it. My fingers are too long to pull the trigger. It might work on a larger gun like my H&K USP, but I think I'll just file that technique with "Gangsta - style" rotated hold. 8)
