A good friend of mine makes all of the custom grips for Springfield, Wilson Combat, Nighthawk and is working with S&W for their 1911, PPK, PPKs, etc....
He has access to many different color combinations of G10 and is a genius when it comes to 3D programming. I've offered to send him the grip panels off of my R9S to get the measurments from and will be getting a set in the next couple of weeks....anyone else interested?
He's going to let me take the orders and sell them, if there is enough interest.
Here are a few examples of what he can do.....these are just to show what kind of detail he can machine into a set of G10 grips. 8)

If he's doing all the grips for Nighthawk then tell him the ones he made for my new T3 are outstanding! I'm a wood grip kinda' guy so I didn't think I'd like them at first but as soon as I picked it up I got that stupid grin on my face that wouldn't go away.

Yes, Sir, those be the ones... ;)
I'll be sure to let him know and I'll post some pictures of my new R9 grips when I get them back and see what y'all think.

Any further information?
-
I have high hopes that the proto's are being cut this weekend.......getting close, all the CAD work has been done. :)
-
I hope that some interesting color could be an option. Saw some in orange with a contrasting weave that looked pretty interesting.
Keep us posted. Thanks
-
Any news yet?
-
They sure do look sweet. Very unique.
-
Got word today that the proto grips have been cut......little bit of palm-swell and all. ;D
I'll post some pictures when I get a pair on my R9S.
He's making some for the Seecamps, too. 8)

Can't wait to see them!!!!!

The Grip maker in this thread is doing a great job, wonder if he will produce grips for the R9 ?
Grips for the R9 seem to be hard to find, I hope if any are found, the photos will be posted here...

Gents, I spoke with the fellow again today and found out all of the programming has been done, the fixtures have been made and now it's a matter of finding the machine-time because of a run of large orders.
He's doing this for me as a favor for the R9's and the Seecamp's.....
I PROMISE I will post any and all pictures as soon as I get my hot little hands on a set that I can bolt on my Stealth. :)
-
Great, that good news.
From what I have seen, they will be worth the wait !
-
wow... I'm interested. The punisher logo is cool.
-
Any new word on the G10 grips?
-
I talked with the Grip Maker and they are getting closer to fruition.......ought to have some good news in the next couple of weeks. 8)
-
I am interested!
One thing to be cautious of is that the relief for the trigger spring secure the 'S' shaped anchor of the spring really well (sit tightly on top of the two anchor posts). Tried some 3rd party grips that allowed the spring to unseat after two rounds. I have a very new R9S Stealth (with stock grips).
UPDATE: 11/3 - the grip with the clip have been replaced by a very supportive vendor and the clip is moved in toward the center of the grip and the well is shallower. I will try them out shortly...
-
They look great. Hope they work. Depending on the price, I'd certainly be interested in a pair... Even more so if they could be done in CF, but that seems to be impossible these days.
-
Any more word on the custom grips? I would like to get some if they are available.
-
I would be intrested in some info on grips, delivery time, color options, patterns, price. John

Interested!

Every time I see a post by RJ, I get upset that he is no longer with us.
Today I used his R9 take down tool to work on two R9s.
I use his pocket holster for the R9.
I miss the guy.
-
I like them, do we have idea what the price range will be?
-
The person who posted this has not posted since Sept. 18th of 2008 :o
I'm not sure but would think it's a dead issue.
