RJ Hedley RIP
« on: September 06, 2009, 09:40:34 AM »
I was asked to post this on behalf of the Hedley family

One of the Greatest Holster Makers that ever lived, Robert J Hedley, (1931-2009)

On Friday September 4, 2009 we lost a great man, father, friend, teacher, and holster maker.  We thank you all for the respect and love you showed to our Dad. He made a lot of genuine friendships through this forum.

Services will be held at Kersey’s Funeral Home in Auburndale, FL on Thursday September 10th, at 6pm.  Our family is asking that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Good Shepard Hospice, they were a true blessing on that final day.  www.goodshepherdhospice.org

Sincerely,
Lou Ellen

I only had the privilege of speaking with RJ once, but he was a gentlemen in the truest since of the word. I had bought one of his holsters from a third party, and had a question as to fit.  We spent a fair amount of time on the phone, talking holsters and guns.  It was apparent that he enjoyed his work, and enjoyed helping others.  This is a sad day.  He will be missed, both as a superb holster maker, and as a man.  May he rest in peace.

With RJ's passing, Joyce and I have lost a man we considered a good and true friend. The world is a better place for his having been among us and a poorer place for his passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the members of his family.

Requiescat in pace.

This was the worst news that I could have heard.  RJ was a great caring man and will be greatly missed.  May he find happiness in his new life.  My sincerest condolences and prayers go out to the family and all the friends that will miss him greatly.

I didn't know RJ personally.  Traded PMs and purchased a Hedley front pocket holster, mag case, & "Stop Stick" from him.
Now, I'll think of RJ every time I pocket my R9 and / or spare mag.

Rest in peace.

He really was a great guy. A craftsman and a gentlemen.

He only lived about 35 miles from me and regretfully I never went down to visit.

All the best to his family.

I recall from another forum his talking about loosing his best friend, an old yellow cat. He then posted a piece about 'The Rainbow Bridge".

I never forgot that. I had lost my best friend a couple of months prior.

And now he's crossing that Rainbow Bridge.

RIP, RJ
