Robar coating: NP3, NP3 Plus, Roguard?
« on: March 22, 2011, 12:56:55 PM »
After reading a little bit about people sending their pups in for work by Robar, I've been thinking about the same thing.

But I'm a little confused by the different coatings. Are you guys doing Roguard, or just the NP3/NP3 Plus?

I have the NP3, they did not have the NP3+ when I got mine done. I have been very happy with the finish.

Does it change anything functional? Or just make things a little more wear-resistant?

Everything works smoother and cleaning is just a matter of wiping off any residue with a cloth.

How could you go wrong with that finish.

I am still contemplating this for my next PUP.

And that's why I want to do Robar!    :)   Yes!

I have two carry guns done by Robar, not my R9.
After speaking with them in person and handling different samples of each, this is it in a nutshell:

Awesome - Rogaurd

Better -     NP3

Best -       NP3 plus

Good Luck

Yeah I'm leaning toward NP3+ for the whole gun. Now the only question is whether I'm actually willing to plunk down that much money on redoing a perfectly good gun, and losing my daily carry for 6-8 weeks. Better make up my mind quick with the 15% off deal ending soon...

Yes, that is the painful part - not having your pard at your side for so long.  But what did you do before?  You may have to "slum it" and go to your _______?

By doing it now with that 15% off, it's like paying for just NP3 and getting the "plus" for free.

Cheers

PPS 9mm. I like the gun a lot, but in work clothes (i.e. slacks), pocket carry is just so damn much more convenient.

Oh well. I'll probably go ahead and do this, and just suffer through a couple months of IWB in a Crossbreed holster.

Yep!  I've not heard any complaints whatsoever about Robar.

Now you need to buy a backup PUP to carry while yours gets refinished. ;D

I've got a brand new one that just may go that route.    ;D

I purchased coopers R9. It had 6 rounds through it.

After I test fire it, I'll be ready to send it somewhere to get something done to it! ;D
