Title: Lube
Post by: GeorgeH on July 24, 2004, 02:31:33 PM
I like Militec-1, but I'd like to know what Eric and Karl recommend. I'm not talking about what they use in the assembly process, but what they use on their own personal firearms.

I thought somebody mentioned FP-10.

I was using Militec on my PM9, but it disappears after a week of pocket carry and then couple of boxes of ammo leaving the PM9 hot and dry and causing some failure to battery. I've switchted to Tetra Gun Grease.  No, you don't put it on heavy, but put on a little and rub it in until it disappears. It seems to have better staying power and my PM9 likes it alot.

Eric told me to use "super lube" on the rails and such and Mobil 1 0-30 on the internals.  I have no idea who makes the super lube or where to get it.

I use TW-25 grease wherever I'm able to put it and FP-10 in places like the extractor and firing pin channel.

Sharp is correct on the recommended lubes.

Do you have a link for Midway?

Ace Hardware carries Superlube Grease and oils too.  That is where I got mine.  I also found it in K-Mart yesterday.
