Post by: xpistosk on April 25, 2010, 09:55:33 PM
My pup "FINALLY" arrived...........

After about 2 months of anxiety.  Now Im waiting for the black CF grips I purchased from FloridaCCW, and an H.B.E Tuckable pro TL from Eric.
They both should be arriving within the week.  Then a range session. ;D

Any how, here are some pics from my iphone..... sorry for the quality!

Christos.  Excellent NP3 one tone.  The stippling is nice as well.  Now for those CF's.  The waiting is something else!

Very nice!!!  I may be sending both of my R9s in this week for a Robar treatment before the sale ends. I just need my replacement barrel pin to arrive!

USPS tracking says your CF grips are being sorted in New Jersey. Looks like they might be arriving tomorrow  ;D

Kjtians; thx, your approval defiantly helps justify the wait, money, etc....

Florida;  good call on sending both at the same time,  I highly recommend the NP3 Plus.  The way I look at it, you might as well go for it because its only about another 120 bucks more and the non-plus!!
Factor in the wait-time and what not.  This thing is bad a$$
Im also very pleased with the stippling.  The kool part is that the guy who did my transfer is also a clockmaker/gunsmith and said he would swap the grips for me for no charge.  Id rather have him do it since the grip screws are coated as-well.  It would suck to strip one of those suckers!!!

PS: $50 for the transfer, should cover a grip swap as-well, don't ya think ;)

Very nice, I have been pleased with my Robar coated pup. Maybe when the Seecamp gets here I'll send it to Robar.

Probably should have posted in "Range report section", oh well!

I took my stippled and NP3+ R9s along with a sig P232 to the range today.  I started of with the sig, 50 rounds of federal eagle, 25 rounds of independence blue box, and 25 rounds of Blazer.  All good with no problems!

I figured I'd start with the sig cause it would probably be better off starting off with the 380 and then the 9mm R9.  After all I haven't been to the range in a while.

The pup functioned flawlessly with 1 Box of speer gold dots 115gr, and 1 Box of speer gold dots 124gr.

There was defiantly  some flip, but was what was expected from a loaded 14-15 oz pocket pistol!

This this is awesome,  Im now considering getting rid of the sig.  Smaller 9mm vs 380?  No brainer for me.  Don't get me wrong the P232 is a fantastic pistol, never one hiccup.  However is defiantly out classed as a concealable self defense pistol, not to mention caliber!

I think im gonna get myself another H&k!  Gotta love German engineering"!!! Best cars, Best tools, Best guns, etc......

If Im not mistaken, "Karl Rohrbaugh" is German too right?

;D ;D ;D

Great range results.  You've got to be proud.  The plan came together with a grand finale, so to speak.  Excellent!    :)

Sure did, I couldn't be happier!

Im a-little confused with the spring....
After looking at http://acbsystems.net/boards/rohrbaugh/basefile/faq-index.htm, it says "the mainspring MUST have the formed end against the collar, and the unfinished end within the end cup".  Is that because that tutorial was done before Karl implemented the new springs?

I don't see any difference between the ends!?1?
After 40 rounds of speer Gold Dots the spring is about 1/4 inch shorter.

The ends on the new spring don't have any variance either.

Any input whould be helpfull, thanks! ::)

Yes, the current springs are different from those in the tutorial and you do not have to be concerned about it. They are the same on both ends.

I like your new checked grips are they the ones on Rohrbaugh store page?

cordy,
Those are the original Rohrbaugh Carbon Fiber grips. These are mine.
You can only get them from someone who has taken them off an older model, they also come in blue and will set you back about $300.

Had another range session today.  I just came back from my local PD where my cousin is a Officer, and used their range.

We put 50 rounds of American Eagle 115gr threw the pup as well as 20 rounds of Gold dots(10 -115gr & 10 -124gr).

Also put 150 rounds threw the p232 & 150 threw his duty p229.

Good day for sure!
