Title: Cx4 Storm 40mm Carbine
Post by: Drumbum on February 11, 2014, 07:25:06 PM
Does anyone own or have experience with one of these? I hear good things but it's a chunk of money for pistol caliber.

I do not but one of the guys at work has one and he really likes it, he has actually said he would not sell it so I guess that is a statement. He shoots lots of rifles and is a sniper so he is familiar with guns.

My 9mm is fun to shoot; a great HD weapon IMO.

Thanks for the feedback. The reviews online are pretty positive too. One guy said the trigger is heavy & tends to stack but was easily fixed with an upgrade kit. My buddy bought a MechTech kit that attaches to a glock frame. Here's a pic. It's fun to shoot but ugly as sin. I like the Cx4 better.

I just bought a MechTech in 10mm for my Glock 20.  It had 100 rounds through it and came with the M4 stock for $350.

That is all I wanted to spend.

Man, I can't argue with that price. Sadly, I don't have a Glock so that drives the setup cost higher.

I believe they make them for 1911's also.

They work fine, but not a real good quality piece.  I don't like the blow back action, but I guess I am not shooting benchrest anyway.

The Gen 4 Glock G-17 I purchased for my wife and that, thanks to an introduction by "Tracker" of this forum, was upgraded by Teddy Jacobson ("Actions by T"), has been sitting in the gun safe, ignored and unfired, while she carries a Seecamp .32 with old ivory grips she "requisitioned" from me several years ago.  I think it's about time for some payback.  It occurs to me that there may be a Mech Tech carbine built on a G-17 in my near future.   8)

I will have to say I have had fun with mine.  Loaded with 15 rounds of 10 mm and a 16'" barrel, it is a formidable weapon.

It really is a kind of slicked up version of it's Granddad, the Greasegun.
