Kimber 1911 gold combat ii
« on: February 04, 2014, 01:12:15 AM »
Hi everyone,

I have a quick question, a friend has a Kimber gold combat ii that he offered to sell, now this gun has about 2500 rounds through it but looks older because it was his duty gun for 4 years and has holster wear. Coming with the gun is 5 Wilson combat and two McCormick Magazine's and 500 rounds of 45 mixed between range and defense. So here is the tough part to resist he wants 1300 for everything, I know I would most likely never carry this and not sure about just sticking it in the safe.

Anyway what do you guys think.

My advice is to grab it before someone else does.  The MSRP on that pistol NIB is $2,307.00.

As I read your description, all it probably needs is a little TLC to restore it to its original state -- perhaps a refinish, maybe replacement of the recoil spring, and possibly some custom after-market grips (Esmeraldas come to mind).

And by the way, since the Gold Combat II has an ambidextrous safety, be sure to check the Ambi Safety link if you opt for some Esmeralda grips:

Not a bad price,  considering the 500 rds of .45 that are included.  I'd really have to see the pistol to give my true evaluation, but it sounds pretty good.

The 2500 round count is somewhat high for my liking,  and a lot depends on the overall condition of the barrel and slide rails.
