Actual velocity
« on: March 05, 2009, 01:30:16 PM »
Hello everyone - new member Dan here.  I ordered an R9 and while waiting for its delivery I have a couple of questions.  First off has anyone shot their R9 through a chronograph to capture the actual velocity?

Second question: how do you pronounce Rohrbaugh?  Roar-bog?

It'll be a month or so before I shoot and report on the experience, so to pass time I thought I'd ask those two questions.

Thanks!

Dan

Welcome to the forum, I have not set up my chrono yet and have only had one home range session. As to the second question, I too would like to know the answer to it.  John

Thanks for the warm welcome.  I've been following the R9 progress since late 2006 and decided to finally take a chance in 2009.  I'm patient, I'll try different ammo, but I will need to experience 100% reliability before the R9 replaces my current pocket carry (340PD).  Here's to the journey!

DaminVA, what a great link to a great web site.  Who is responsibel for it.  Home page does not say.

Yes it is a great site.  Someone else will have to reply to your question as I don't know who's responsible for it.  I found it by clicking on an advertisement on this site.

This R9 sure has a lot of enthusiasts.  I'm looking forward to getting my first one.

That link is to the FAQ site created by Chris ("R9SCarry") for the benefit of those who frequent the Forum. It is linked to this site as the fifth interactive tab at the top of the page but, like the Forum itself, has no official connection with the Rohrbaugh corporation.

Hello Dan.  I am a new member too, so welcome.

On how to pronounce Rohrbaugh, go to Google, and type in Rohrbaugh 9mm and you,ll come up on page 1 about 2nd
item down with U-tube.  On that will be Karl Rohrbaugh
introducing himself in his own words and showing the
R9 in action.

This sold me on the R9 and I have one on order also.

Hope this helps.

Here's the link to the youtube video referenced in the previous post - Karl Rohrbaugh demonstrating accuracy of the R9 at 7 & 21 yards.
