Title: I love my R9 -- but....
Post by: flyandscuba on October 14, 2005, 05:32:27 PM
I'm really liking what I came across today while on a business trip in SW Florida...  I make it a practice to stop in gun shops I've not visited before while on my travels.

In discussion with a very friendly store owner, I asked about the Seecamp 380 -- and if he had come across any.  Well, it seems it is his personal pocket carry of choice while in the store.  He asked his wife to go get the one "hiding away" in the back.

Well, I certainly filled out the yellow form and swiped my debit card in record time!  I haven't shot it yet, of course -- but I'm really loving this little jewel!

Sorry about the poor picture quality, but my PDA was the only camera I had on this trip.  Here's a couple of the LWS380 accompanied by the larger R9S.

The shop owner was nice enough to dig through his range bag and give me a "wallet" of silver tips and hydra-shoks so I had some food for the little pup.

Oh well, I guess it is time to order another pocket holster.....hey RRRRR JJJJJJ !  ;D

Wow!  That Seecamp makes the R9S look kinda large.
I have a NAA Guardian .380, which falls in the middle sizewise.
The NAA is considerably heavier than the Seecamp or Rohrbaugh, but I can tell you from personal experience the NAA recoils VERY vigorously compared to my R9S.  Somewhere in another thread, I believe RJHedley commented that straight blowback pistols do indeed kick hard.  Amen, Brother RJ.

Michigunner:  If you find the R9 uncomfortable, I'll bet that Seecamp .380 is a killer. :'(

Still, I want one.  I want one.  Think of the possibilities:  R9 in right front pocket, Seecamp in left front pocket, Sig .40 S&W on right hip.  All the contents of my pockets in.....a mini-backpack?

sslater,
I was thinking the same thing.  I bet that Seecamp would give a good kick.

My P3AT did a little bit, too.

Nice find on the LWS 380 - there are many people who have waited over a year and have yet to see the gun.

Good score Flyandscuba, I caught it on the Seecamp Forum. I hope you really enjoy it.
I hope all you guys get ones soon that are on order.

I was just reading above the size comparisons. Here is a picture of the R9, a NAA 32, and a LWS-32, none of these are mine, but belong to my friend.
