I’m curious as well. I have a 380 stealth and am wondering how many more are floating around.

I assure you there is at least one more. I just picked one up today thanks to the forum and manylinda.

The actual production records are now in the possession of Remington.
However, as best as Eric can recall...
Only about 200 were made. About 1/2 were two tone, and 1/2 Stealth models. There was just one factory special Robar/Rohrbaugh in .380!
Also, only about 5 or 6 had no sights, so they are rare as hens teeth...
So, the Stealth and Two Tone were produced in about the same numbers.

Very interesting. Thanks for the great info.
So who has the Robar Rohrbaugh .380?
Anyone fessing up?
Well if you don't want to brag to the world at least PM me.
Do the Robars look much different than the standard stealth models?
-
Yes, the Robars are a different color.

Hello JoshA,
There was one set of Rohrbaugh/Robars made especially for my doctor and they were consecutive serial numbers. He had an R9 in 9mm whilst the second version was in .380 caliber for his wife. They have since retired and moved south off of the Island to points unknown. I doubt he would ever sell them. He and his wife absolutely adored them. I believe he may be leaving those to his family when he passes on. I also know they were NEVER shot, just looked at and admired as art. (His words, not mine)
In reference to the coating difference between a Stealth and the Rohrbaugh/Robar:
The Stealth has an anodized frame with a black nitride slide.
The Rohrbaugh/Robar had NP3 coating treating the slide, barrel and frame. Hand polished trigger, hammer, ejector, extractor, magazine release, magazine base plate and grip screw set.
Regards,
Eric R.

From the description I think I know why the doc called them art. They sound beautiful.

For my own selfish reasons, I put my heart and soul into that special set. But then again, for some crazy reason, I did that to all of those little guys. lol

5 or 6 no sights. This is going to get interesting ON GB.

Hey Corey,
It is a good shot that that particular R380 is original. We did a few of those with Robbie Barkmann's NP3 treatment.
That little .380 shot like a .25 Automatic due to the locking breath rather than the traditional blowback designs of most .380 pistols.
So sweet of a gun she was. Keep in mind what you see here, although no longer available as it was sold, is just an NP3-coated R380. It is not a Rohrbaugh Robar version. Those had items that were hand polished by our in-house jeweler which this pistol does not have. However, it's still a sweet pistol and sold! Someone has a nice R380 for sure.
