I'd love to see a Rohrbaugh 1911.

Maybe not Tracker.  Karl is a big fan of the 1911, and has talked about doing one at various times.  It would have to be pretty high end though to distinguish it from all the other 1911s out there.

I don't think its in the works at all -- too much competition right now.  But don't rule it out in our lifetimes!   ;)

i dont think he would......karl is A FRIEND of terry tussey the 1911 ( i used to work for terry and i know KARL )smith and i think OUT PERSONAL opinion that a 1911 just ISNT WHAT the rohrbaugh is all about. he has the da only and no manual safty and small size for a reason hes all about the ultimite carry gun.

Speaking of which - if anyone seriously wants a micro 1911 in 45, Terry Tussy is THE Man to see.
It will be custom, and the smallest you've ever seen!

DDGator:
As I said, Karl is interested in 1911s and has talked about making one.  Yes, it would be different than anything Rohrbaugh has done to date, but its a different gun for a different purpose.  I think Karl would see a 1911 as a competition gun rather than a carry gun.

However, its hard to find a market any more saturated than the 1911 market.

Very true, possibly only the Kalashnikov and the countless variations of that man's masterpiece could top the 1911's over-saturation.
