Yeah, I gotta admit that I was enamoured with the idea of the R-9 for a long time.  I placed my order having never laid eyes on one in person.  But -- I wasn't disappointed!

I stumbled upon the forum while trying to research the R9 just prior to buying mine right after the feature in American Handgunner.

Darn ,  I can't remember ! ???

I am trying to remember too!! ;D

I frequent a few boards-not enough time for any of them :(

I "studied" up for a VERY short time and ordered one.. 8)

Really is a short time period-but seems like a long time.. ;)

I placed my order for R9S in early November. When I was expediting the gun, in January, Eric recommended the site and the rest is history.

As I have posted elsewhere, this is the first handgun I have purchased in 4 years, having gone sour with firearms due to NJ gun laws. The Rohrbaugh better be good because the laws have gotten worse in NJ instead of better.

Tom,

Absolutely yes. It is sad when you take such joy in criticizing your  state because that is the only satisfaction available.

NJ is the most corrupt piece of dung in the union. Tell Trenton I said so.

My dealer suggested I sign up for the forum and surf thru it before placing my order for an R9S.
Then he let me handle his personal R9S.  I placed the order right then and there.  Upon returning home, I signed on to The Rohrbaugh Forum.
I'm getting pretty anxious to receive my own gun.  It's been, what, seven days.  :D

sslater - welcome aboard the good ship Rohrbaugh! :)

Glad you had the chance to see and handle one with your dealer.  Several folks here have actually bought ''sight unseen'' - but still I think have expressed delight and satisfaction on receipt of their ''pup''.

Hope your wait will not be too long or hard to endure.

I will from time to time lurk on over to the NAA forum & saw mention of this place from the good folks over there.

As I recall, I first saw the R9 in 'American Handgunner' and was impressed with the review. I then went online in doing a search under Rohrbaugh, this forum popped up. I was intrigued by the AH article but it was the forum members that 'sold' me on the idea of getting one.

By the time I decided to get one the factory had just shut down for the move so I thought I was in for a looonnng wait, as many others did. Fortunately, I found a dealer that had one last R9S available and I got mine in mid-December. I carry it every day.

Just like FireBreather, I first saw the R9 in American Handgunner.  I'm not one to ever throw out any of my "gun magazines", but I still keep that AH issue in a special drawer in my nightstand.

Between the time I ordered my R9 and the time it came in, it was my favorite read.

hey everyone, i just saw a small article on the R9 in my American Rifleman magazine that came today.  i love the size of the gun, as i have a kel-tec for a back-up carry but it's dependability is fickle at best.  i was trying to do some research on other small pocket guns .380 and above and came across the forum. already found lots of interesting stuff.  hopefully i can find one to touch up here in michigan soon...

i'm hoping i'll be able to mess with one at the birch run gunshow coming up in the next week.  seems to be a pretty big one in michigan with tons of popular dealers with interesting things.  can't hardly wait...
