Now for something completely different! :)

Was cleaning this piece of glass artistry today - boy does dust settle fast!  My parents had this for the longest time and I always liked it immensely - since they passed I have been able to enjoy it daily in more recent years.

This is made by Lichfield Glass in England and for me is exquisite.  Many have seen ''ship in bottle'' stuff but I am amazed by the skill that must be needed to achieve this sort of result.  Glass art never fails to please and amaze me.

Hope you can enjoy, tho pics do not do full justice.

Chris

That is really special!  Thanks for posting it.  It must have meant a lot to your parents and I bet they would smile that you have now placed a picture of it on the web.

Stayed over night at my parents last night to help out.  As I was laying there after all were asleep the memories of years gone by were as they say, "so thick you could cut them with a knife".  My dad was in the hospital for several days and got back yeasterday.   Don't know how long my mom has left, could be as little as two months, her pain is really increasing.

So I just got back home and your pictures put a smile on my face.

Thanks Tom - didn't mean to bring down the thread.  Hope your weekend was good.

Tom - haven't heard much lately about your service dog (is it Isley?) - how is it going?  Has you wife come home from her treatments yet?

Take care,
Dave

Mentioning your Mom Dave sure doesn't ''bring down'' the thread.  Far from it.

We are many of us myself included, still keeping her in our thoughts.

Dave, Isley is still OK. However, it has become a contest of wills for awhile. We both need the service dog trainer to help us go to our corners and train me to get him to do the work.
Kathleen is doing OK it seems, she is almost done with the chemo and then the surgery and then radiation. She should be back in May.

Chris taught me to do picture posts - you'll get it.

Can't help myself - need to post a Spencer picture from yesterday.

You can say that again!

I know you don't have a dog.

It is nice not to come home to an empty house and always being happily greeted - never judged - always devoted.

Man, that sounds like a wife.  I need to get out more.
