Dan - first thing I notice is that site does not supposedly support Opera - which I use in part.  That tho should be incidental re pics showing.

Now the link you have - http://pictures.aol.com/ap/myAlbums.do - that is in itself not going to bring any pics up.  I am not familar with that hosting service but - the usual ''look'' to a URL which would display a pic might be - (and here I am leaving off http and www ) --

yourpichostsite.com/myalbums/danspics/samplepic.jpg

Note, the last item is an image filename.  I am not sure in that URL about the ''''myalbums.do'' - seems odd.  But anyways there should be some way to get a unique URL for each and every pic you store - you'll have to check that out.  Then hopefully put the whole deal for any pic between the ''img'' tags.

Check it out further - see if any more info you can get.

Bill ,    Good natured now.  30-06 will do that.  He is presently in the freezer and the hide at the Taxidermist.  Since I was a kid I always wanted a rug.  Cost almost as much as an R-9 though.  Dan

Dan - one outa two - that's still a success!!!  Mind you - as I suspected, had to bring up thread in IE - no pic in Opera.

What an impressive fella and nice pic even if a tad large!

Well done! :)

Ahhh now showing in Opera - guess system cached it after coming up in IE!

Nice Bear Dan.

As Chris said try and make the pictures smaller - it makes the picture easier to view and download
for some without throwing the screen size off.  You're getting it.

As long as we are showing Bears.  I posted this Grizzly on the forum Dan before you joined.
Took the picture in the Alaska bush last summer from way too close.

The story and more pictures are on this link.

Well guys - here is my Valentine present to my wife
 - blue topaz stone with silver setting and chain
 - it was a winner.

Hard to beat last year though.  I hired a part of the
University of Pittsbugh Choir to go to her office and sing to
her.  Now she was touched with that one.

img]     Smaller this time.  I told Karl R that I was going to get a bear with my R-9.  He said if you shoot a Bear with that its going to eat you.  Well I had him going for a little while. *************                                                             Turned megapixels way down but still to large.  Slowly but surely.  Chris back to the FAQ

Dan - now you have it right!

Nice picture - what state - looks like a PA bear.

When the thread goes to a new page everything will be back to normal size- you can still resize the first picture if you want
- I do that a lot - need to do "modify".

Post often Dan.

Dave - your wife is one lucky lady - but you of course are one lucky guy!!

Just in passing - I designed and maintain this site for a lady in Colorado - she makes some very interesting jewelry - and some might like to take a peek.

Dan - that other pic is fine tho in fact reduced a tad more than you need.  A good rule of thumb is to aim for on screen size of approx 640x480 pixels - and compress to a filesize of around 50k-100K.

Dave,  The bear was taken in NY.  Catskills up in the high peaks.  I have 115 acres  surrounded on all 4 sides by a Conservation Co-op.  1100 acres in a forever wild program.  My Hunting club leases the hunting rights from the cc. The bear was two ridges above where my property ends.  But I saw him twice during the summer in my back yard.

Dan - the first pic has resized to 400 x 300 - the second one is actually 320 x 240!!  Both in fact come over just fine as they are and file sizes are very reasonable.

Irfanview does a great job but seems maybe your choice of resize was off a bit.  Irfanview offers some pre-set dimensions one of which is 640 x 480 but you can select your own choice too.

If as I assume you use windows - hover mouse over file in windows explorer and you should see a flyout with data - which will give a check on size.  Do some more experiments - that will help probably.  You're gettin there :)
