Title: R-5000 Raffle Winner
Post by: DDGator on October 04, 2010, 10:39:06 AM
The winner of the R9S R5000 raffle from the 2010 NRA / S.A.F.E. Conference for Firearms Civil Rights was:

Warren H. Degen from Holtsville, New York.

Not a forum member…sorry all.  I am told that all of the memberships received from forum members were included.

Eric Rohrbaugh picked the winning ticket in front of everyone, with Wayne LaPierre, Chris Cox, Jay Townsend (trying for NYS Senate against Chuck Schumer) and other dignitaries looking on.

According to reports, there were about 700-800 people in attendance at the conference, and it was considered to be very successful.

Thanks to all who entered.  At least your ticket money went to a good cause – supporting our Second Amendment rights!

Congrats Warren. I was hoping a forum member would win but thats the luck of the draw.

Yep!  Congrats to the winner, Warren H. Degen.  Now we can look for it to show up somewhere else, maybe.......; just might get another shot at it!

It's not in the same monetary category as an early Farmie to me, certainly worth a little more than a regular production model but not much.
I was hoping they would engrave something on one of those stashed Farmie slides and add a pair of CF grips to #5000, that would have elevated the status in my book.
Well there is always # 10,000 coming up and plenty of time to plan and execute a Grand Pup.

I know.  I'd rather have another early, early Farmingdale, too, however, the thoughts of R5000 has a good ring to it; and John; good point; R10,000!

Congrats to the winner!!!

It would be nice if the R bros would make a Pup out of gold and give one to each of us on the forum! ;)

I too would have liked a bit more flair added to this gun-but it is a current run pup,not a Farmie-even if they threw an old Farmingdale slide on a gun,it wouldn't make it one..

I doubt that Rohrbaugh Firearms has even "made" any money on their initial investment as yet..

I just feel lucky to own a couple early Pups,to have a chance to share times with you all on this great forum, and to be so lucky to walk another day upright in the greatest country on earth..

Once again-congrats to the winner of R5000

They could have sweetened the pot on the raffle by offering Free Membership to the Forum.  ;D ;D
Oh, it is free.  Thanks Duane.

Well it does not look like we will see it up for sale.  Mr. Degen does not have any interest in selling it.

How do you know that Corey?

About 45 seconds on Google with his name and town I found his street address, cell number and his email along with a hobby or two.  I emailed him and he emailed back.   Sometimes the internet is scary how easy and fast you can find "stuff".

Holtsville is about 20 clicks from Deer Park. That is better than FFL to FFL. Hmmm.

There's only one winner and anything other than that is a loser,      I know it can be exciting to come close but close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.
I've come close but I still lost. :'(
I always felt much better after winning. ;D

Sorry just my take on the way it is.
