Top 100 Gun Sites

I know this is kind of a stupid thing, but I signed us up with the Top Sites Outdoor Network, which has a list of the top 100 gun-related sites, based upon traffic and volume.

You can see the list by clicking the banner at the bottom of each page.  When we crack the top 100, it will display our current ranking number.  There are some small sites in the top 100, so it will be interesting to see if we can break in!

Sites are ranked based upon the number of unique IP visits per day, and the number of banner clicks (with unique IP addresses) from our site each day.  So try to click over once a day if you think about it -- multiple clicks from the same person won't count, so don't bother.

Rankings are based upon a four day average (not including the current day), so we won't make the list for 5 days for sure -- even assuming we have enough volume to break in.

Anyway -- it should be interesting to see what happens!

Cool!    If we visit more than once a day, does that count extra?  When I think of it, I usually check in the AM, and then again at night, just to see what interesting things have been posted recently.

Do we have to log in for this to "take" and be counted??

Just wondering as I do not always log in when I visit?

Brenden - I would say yes ... as without that the IP logging probably would not occur ... tho Duane will know this way better than me.  

Otherwise, stat's would be entirely based just on ''views'' which would not record IP's... and not really give an accurate picture of actual member activity.

Visiting more than once per day doesn't count -- it tracks unique IP addresses each day.  I don't know if you need to be logged in or not...  I sure doesn't hurt!  

In our first ranking, I see we are number 87!  Not bad.
However, all the sites behind us are places I never heard of for the most part!

The way I understand it too is that if each of us click on the Banner each day that the site may get extra attention too..

The little grey square with white and yellow text at the bottom of each page with our ranking -- just click on it and it will link you to the Top 100 Website.

Duane, I think on reflection this could be cos of my firewall settings .. getting rid of ad's ... and at times it sees non-ads as ad's!!  I have not put it to test but certainly - I don't see this lil' square.  Do me a favor (someone) and copy the link it contains and post that for me. TIA.

Must say - I was gettin worried!!!  I know I can be pretty thick at times but this one was bugging me LOL!
