Post by: IDM on September 30, 2008, 12:20:38 PM
Hi All
been a long time but just though Id stop buy to show the latest work.
These are The prototype grips

The checkering is not quite right but close.
If someone would want to buy these I would give them a good deal, because I would consider then 2nds.
I also still have a few of my aluminum grips still avalible.

Bryce, looking good.  You picked a very nice script "R", I like it!  What about the checkering do you not like.  I may want them.  Did you get the brown or green G10?  Email me a price if you don't mind.

One more set done with Final checkering.

I will have a few other styles with other contours and grip patterns soon.

Looking good!!!!!!!!!!

Bryce, how thick are these compaired to stock Rohrbaugh G10 grips?  If I recall correct your alum. ones are thinner than stock grips.

The G10 is thicker by a little.
The Alum. ones are the thinnest possible, thinner and lighter than stock.

I like the thicker g10, in combo with the mag extension it realy improves the feel of the gun.

Now that is awsome!  I like the larger checkering also.  But I can't decide between the brown and the white.  I'll let you know tomorrow.  Wished I had the $$ to get them both to try out!  Well the black looks great too, maybe we can work out a deal for one of each.  ;D

What material are the white grips made of?

There are diffent trade names for most of the materials. But I call them all composites because of the way they are made. They all are a composite of 2 or 3 materials. some use carbon, some use glass, some use cotton, or linen, or even paper.
The "G10" I have in the black and tan is a cotton based composite.
the white one is still a "G10" but is a paper or Phinolic based composite called Micarta.

if there are any request or coments on some design or color let me know.
Dam it's late got to hit the hay!!

Thanks

Thanks
Just a little info.
This is not paint. It is Black composit that is filled in then re-machined. you can dip these in a solvent and it wont come off. the same go's for the letters.
Vary time intensive but I think it is worth it.
