R9 New Magazines?
« on: March 08, 2015, 07:46:35 PM »
I just saw a R9 magazine sell on GunBroker for $125.00, and another listed with a BIN @ $150.00. Has anyone bought any new magazines from Williams? And if not, do they even sell spare mags.? I tried researching the threads, but found nothing. Thanks.

They were previously made by Check-Mate but not anymore to my understanding.

Shot in the dark...anyone know if Kimber Solo mags fit?  They look pretty similar.

Yes, I bought a .380 mag and springs and some stuff for my R9's from Williams. Very good prices. Shipping price is good also.  With those prices on GB I  should buy a bunch and sell 1 @ a time!!$$  8)

Just chiming in here guys. Williams selling R9 magazines for $34.95 is exactly the price we were selling them for. Nice to see they are not price gouging. To put some more "behind the scenes" information out there, the R9 was designed around a Colt Pocket Nine magazine. Continuing in that fashion, the prototype Rohrbaugh R45 .45 ACP pistol Karl was working on was designed around the Colt 1911 magazine. One day, perhaps, I'll post some photographs of prototype here as "Eye Candy" and for others to ponder:  "What if . . . . . . "

Eric,

What became of the R-45 prototype that you showed me at the SHOT Show several years ago?  Is that still around?

Ah ha. . . . . . . Well, we'll have to look to Checkmate for magazines then. Hopefully they continue in limited quantities for the R9 enthusiasts.  ;)
