They have been a 4K for at least 5 years.  That is the only chrome one I have ever heard of.

Get a Double Tap if you like recoil.

Karl and I both shot one of those (DoubleTap) in Kentucky at The Remington R&D Facility when we were there. We each took just ONE shot. . . . . That was enough! Hurt like hell! They laughed and said. . . . Go ahead, shoot the second round. . . . . Karl & I both had rather straight forward explicatives for them. . . . . They laughed at those statements too.  lol

Yeah, NOT a fan of that thing at all.

Think that hurt? I have a friend who is a prison guard at Pendleton Prison in Indiana. In a shake down he took off a prisoner a Drafting/Mechanical type pen. It was hollower out to hold a .45 round and fired by the spring clip used to attach to your pocket.

The steel was about 1/16 of a inch thick and he asked if I was brave/stupid enough to TRY to fire it. I said the only way would be to take it to the woods, tie it to a log, and with a LONG fishing line fire it. It was sure to blow up first time used.

I shouldn't say too much about this because I am going to get one to review for Shooting Illustrated as soon as they are avaialble.

However, assuming this works well, isn't this A LOT of what people were hoping to see in the fabled R-45??

Hmmm.  I don't have one yet.  However, your post has prompted me to inquire again.

Go ahead, shoot the second round

You're lucky it didn't shoot the second round... Paul from PocketGunsandGear and a twin detonation from a DoubleTap:

Shooting is something you should ENJOY. If it beats the hell out of your hand it looses the fun factor real fast.

Kind of a weird price on them - $751.78

I mean, why not $751.75 or $751.99 or $752.00 ?

Well anyway, they're out:
