Failure to return to battery
« on: February 24, 2008, 10:11:53 AM »
Posted this over on the "Welcome" thread but figured this is where it should be.

Bought a R9S secondhand, 1st owner fired it approx. 40 times, I've been to the range 2x with approx. 60 rds downrange.

Gun functions fine but doesn't completely return to battery.
Slide sits about a 1/16 to 1/8 back from the frame.

Is this normal?

It might be alittle dry or need a new recoil spring.  Tom

Welcome to the forum..

Glad to see another pup owner!! 8)

It has been cycling OK this way I assume?I agree with Tom,I would clean, lube, check your recoil spring/rod,and make sure everything is together as it should be,then see if you still have the difference..

If I remember right, someone else here asked about this..

My pups all "match up" with frame at firing position..

Welcome again,

Thanks for the replies.
Don't think its the lube as it was torn down before shooting.
Just got off phone with Maria from Rohrbaugh.
Springs are shipping tomorrow.
