Although several of you have been very generous with unsolicited donations, I don't want to have to put the bite on any of you in the future. Our start-up costs have been funded, and now I am looking for a way to make this board self-supporting.
To further this goal, I am going to make rotating banner ad space available for sale. The rates are very reasonable, and can be less than $1 per day, which is a good rate considering our daily average of 13,000+ hits (which will only go up as word gets out), not to mention our focused community of more, er... affluent ... buyers. ::)
The advertising will not be obnoxious. No pop-up ads -- just a rotating banner ad at the top. Buying advertising gets you just that -- advertising. No favoritism or special dispensation from moderation. ;D
Let me know if any of you are interested. This is a great way to support the continued operation of the forum and get some benefit for yourself at the same time!
Thanks!

Duane:
Will you take political advertising?
-
Good notion Duane ... tho I cannot think of anything I can personally use it for to promote. Wrong end of life! :P
-
Hadn't thought about political advertising. Maybe... Do you have something in mind? ;D
-
I'd like to see a Bush/Cheney 2004 advertisement and would be more than willing to contribute toward that. I dread to think what Kerry/Edwards (not to mention Kennedy, Shumer, and Hillary) would do to our 2nd Amendment rights.
Watching this Democrat Convention is scaring the heck out of me.

Mike - me too. I have felt a need to almost keep spare laundry at hand all week .. heaven knows what the ''big speech'' will yield tomorrow... apart from more ''politispeak'' and factual distortions. ::) >:(
-
Well, I don't see a problem with political advertising... Guns and politics pretty much go hand in hand.
Murray, if you are serious just drop me an e-mail or PM.

Duane:
E-mail sent.

I would be interested in advertising my services as a CPA, financial advisor, and personal lines of insurance agent.
I'd need some help with design of the banner, but I am interested in hearing more about the opportunity.

Clyde,
I just returned from a week's vacation and will be trying to catch up on stuff... Please send me an e-mail to admin@rohrbaughforum.com when you have a moment and let me know what you are interested in doing.
Thanks for supporting the forum!
-
Clyde - if you go ahead and need a banner - let me know as I would be happy to make one up for you, after some discussion as to what ''flavor'' you'd like.
-
Chris, I have some interest in doing a forum banner also, please help.
Tom
-
Tom - same as I said to Clyde - all I'd need is (maybe after a phone chat) - a good idea of the ''flavor'' needed.
Any image material could of course be sent to me via email if it was something you had stored, otherwise I'd utilize material from my own archives etc.
I'll leave it to you guys to PM me or email. See then what we can do.

Chris, thanks I would like some help. Right now I am at odds as to what to put on it, as if I disclose in the ad that I am a CPA, under professional standards governed by my licensing state (NC) I would have to register as a "CPA firm" in my licensing state, as well as my practicing state. This would mean more fees to me, and thus, more fees to my clients, which I am very much opposed to. I pride myself on giving the most solid advice at the most reasonable prices. More info. than you probably want to hear, but I just thought I'd explain my only hesitancy. I want to do the add, 100% sure, just trying to find out what I can and cannot say in it...kind of a microcosm of the state of the world and country in which we all live, isn't it?
If you are available to help, please, by all means respond back here or via e-mail and I'll tell you what I think I want to say.

Duane,
Count me in. Chris has designed a banner for me. Chris, tea and cakes are on me.
I also have designed a little personal web page on comcast.net to use for the banner ad to link to. I will forward all to you in an e-mail. Let me know your preferred method for settling up on the fees.
