Someone we all know changed their name on GunBroker.

Having a gun in your hand is much more effective than having the entire police department on the phone!

Sure not just one of his many aliases?

I did not think that they let you take all your reviews with you. Those go back to 2007 under that name.

However there might be another reason.  If someone wanted it to appear like they were not in the firearms business, to avoid the license aspect, one might create and maintain more than one account.

IIRC our friend did a lot of bragging about the number of guns he bought and sold.

IJS.

What is the legal cut off for being a dealer vs a casual collector who is constantly refining his collection?  I know you have to be careful of "Curbside" car dealers who post on Craigslist or Autotrader and make it seem like they're a private seller, when in reality they're unlicensed dealers working out of their homes.  You could do the same thing as a used firearm dealer.

Phil, I don't think there is a set number.  If they determine you are in the business and get on their radar, you may have an expensive and long road to travel.  A lot of it comes down to the BATFE and whether or not they think you are acting like a dealer. IMHO.

I just read that same thing.  Google is a great thing.

Kevin must be a more congenial seller than he was a forum member, based on his customer reviews.

I had one deal with him and he screwed me to the tune of about $200.

I blamed myself, I should have known better.

He contacted me about a Rohrbaugh I had for sale on GunBroker. He said that he would bid it up for me. I told him I don't need shill bidders on anything I sell. He kept doing it & wouldn't stop. He was the high bidder & I made him buy it. He said he wanted it anyway. When he got it he bitched about it & said I screwed him & he wanted his money back or he would give me bad feedback. I kept all his emails saying he would bid my gun up. I then threatened to forward them to GunBroker. That was the end of that discussion. Did anyone ever wonder why he hated me so much?

He may have sold a lot of merchandise to himself and responded with glowing reviews as a satisfied buyer.  Anyone who deals with him should exercise caveat emptor; or better yet, just steer clear. Borderline personality disorders can cause problems.

  Cargaritaville,
I wondered why he had it out for you.
