Multiple Pocket Holster owners
« on: March 09, 2008, 09:15:43 PM »
How many of you use different pocket holsters? I bought a used Graham Reno and before I received it got lucky and found the Del Fatti set I posted in this section.

I briefly put the R9 into the Graham but didn't carry it. Do you use different holsters for different pants? I'm extremely pleased with the Del Fatti and don't really know if I'll ever use the Graham. Maybe I should pass it on to another Rohrbaughristi?

I do use different pocket holsters from time to time, including a Del Fatti for my j-frames. Some do fit different pockets better than others.

I still have a box of Kevin's (K&D) early holsters, but he made me promise not to show anyone.   ;)

The question I get at gun shows and by phone is "what ONE holster would be perfect for all occasions?"

The answers is always which ever one you are most comfortable with in the pants you wear "for all occasions." Of course that leads to a discussion about different pockets and different pattern cuts for pants and jackets. No ONE holster will be as "perfect" in every pocket as another.

This is the most popular R9 holster we make:

Mag and SD gun in the same pocket does not work for me.

I would think that the above rig might work better if the gun was set lower.  I see the same problem with the Milt Sparks design.  Gun sits high.

I prefer maximal slide coverage for a few reasons.  I think that a Hedley back pocket holster is a good compromise, if you would call it that, for both the front and the back pocket.  But if you're going to carry a extra mag, then it has to be on the weak side.

Just my 2 cents.

Like Chocolate or Vanilla; everyone is entitled to a favorite. Why we prefer one over another is entirely preferential.  I prefer the model A

because it sits all the way to the floor of the pocket. Then again, in a Jacket Pocket or Cargo pants, the Model C is a larger package to use up the extra room. Most of our repeat customers start with one model and come back for the other.
