I think I'm Changing Bullets
« on: January 21, 2007, 03:46:51 PM »
I took some Hornady hollowpoints and some Golden Sabre 115 gr bullets to the range today. The Hornady's wouldn't work due to light primer strike. The Golden Sabres did good and were definitely more pleasant to shoot than GDHPs. I think I like them more than White Box Winchesters too. They are more expensive of course but worked well. They are a little longer overall than the Winchesters. ANybody else have any opinions or experience with the Golden Sabre 115s?

Joe:

My R9 digests the Remington Golden Sabers as easily as it does the Speer Gold Dots. If you decide to go with the Golden Sabers, just be careful not to load the 124 grain +Ps.  Remington also offers 124 and 147 grain Golden Sabers in 9mm Luger.

I haven't tried the Hornadys in my "pup."

Oops, I just checked and the Golden Sabres are 124gr. I bought several types to try and just forgot.

No problem.  I knew what you meant.  To borrow a phrase from one of my early mentors, "there's a blinking forest of numbers" with which to contend when it comes to discussing ammo.   8)
